Art Journal tutorial

Bonjour !

Valerie today to present you a new tutorial : a mixed media Art Journal !

I love create scrapbook pages, but sometimes I just want to put some colors on paper, add a little stamp or two, nothing fancy but satisfying for my creating cravings… Using paints, inks, stencils and stamps on a journal spread is perfect for this kind of mood ! And as I wanted some sunshine (that I didn’t have outside), my pages are very sunny…

Starting with Glorious Colorations spray and Allure Minx, I built the background with the Retro and Blocked stencils and the Juicy Colorations spray and Tango Velvet Dimensional medium.

Few stamps colored with Patience Colorations spray and Red Velvet Sorbet Dimensional medium, some alpha stickers and a black pen and you’re done!

As usual, you will find the complete video tutorial on the Art Anthology YouTube channel or just watch it from here :

Thank you for stopping by the AA blog today, see you soon for my next project…

Love rules here by Anna Komenda

Hello Art Anthology fans. It’s Anna here today. I would like to show You a pendant created for my daughter’s room. She is only seven right now but she starts to have her own opinions about everything. She also usually disagree with the sentence that I rule the house 😀 Because I do, right?

That’s why I created this pendant with inscription “Love rules here”. Because it’s the most important thing to remember everyday – that all I do, even if she don’t like it, I do because I love her very much. And I really hope that everytime when she will feel angry of me, she will look at this sign and cheer up a little.

I used a variety of AA products on this pendant – paints and mists. I also added few Melissa Frances wooden elements.

I really like the combination of turquise and purple and I highlighted it by adding butterflies in this colors.

Layout “Sky is the limit” by Anna Komenda

Hello AA fans. It’s Anna here with some summer inspiration. I played with Colorations Sprays and I created a layout. I was inspired by picture I took during our visit at my parent’s house. They live in the countryside and the sky often looks fabulous there. So crisp and blue till the green horizon.

DSC_9130 DSC_9139

As I mentioned, I played with Colorations Sprays. I sprayed the background with three shades of blue using circle as a stencil.

DSC_9110

I left the white circle in the middle of the blue circles but I also wanted to add white clouds. I didn/t have a proper stencil so I created one by myself. I used texture paste to create the clouds.

DSC_9117

I added a pinch of yellow and I created three colors palette: white, blue and yellow as a sun.

DSC_9125

The title just jumped into my head. I feel free and wild when I look at the sky and distant horizon. It gives my such a great power to deal with the daily routine.

I also created a process video for You.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks 🙂

Intuitive Painting Art Anthology Style

Hi crafty friends! Kathy here today with a video showing how I created a canvas using the intuitive painting process. Recently I shared in an online course, Wanderlust, where Flora Bowley demonstrated her intuitive painting technique. Her fun and forgiving approach to painting is based on the notion that “You don’t begin with a preconceived painting in mind; you allow the painting to unfold.”  This is a transformational approach that connects mind + spirit, and allows expressive paintings to emerge naturally.

I really love the results of this canvas and the process of making it. I hope that the photos pick up the shimmer that resulted from using the Gemstone mediums.  If you want intense shimmer, you must get Gemstones!

Canvas “Sea”

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my newest inspiration. I want to show You today a mixed media canvas with sand, waves and blue sky. It’s this kind of project that You create just for fun. Full of experiments, playing with colors and mediums.

I also prepared a process video for You.

DSC_6812a

I used 8*8 canvas as a base. I was inspired by the beautiful blue Velvet and Sorbets. Last time I showed You layout created with them. This time I thought that they will look awesome as a shades of sea surface.

I created two different parts on one canvas – heavy, full of textures sea and soft, watercolor sky. I love how many possibilities You have with many kind od mediums such as mists or dimensional paints.

I was finally able to use my Prima reisins that I bought ages ago. I painted them with a brush. Thanks to that the blended perfectly in my canvas.

Spring frame

Hello Art Anthology fans. It’s Anna here with my first project created with AA goodies.

It’s almost spring outside my window and I am so tired of grey, short, winter days. I need sun, colors and warmth. I can’t wait to see trees in bloom and smell the scent of lilacs and cherries.

I am in the mood for fresh colors and flowers so I created this home decor for my kitchen. It’s a floral frame created with some old canvas, branch brought from one of our walks and some paper flowers. And, of course, Art Anthology mediums.

DSC_6652b

I decided to use fresh colors that associate with spring: pink, yellow and light green.

DSC_6654b

I used some old canvas from my previous, unsuccessful project. Tha canvas was destroyes but I still was able to use the wooden frame. First, I coverd the wood with a gesso to protect it and create a base for the mediums, then I played with colors and painted the frame.

I recorded a video so You can check my creative process and here are some yummy details:
