Journey Mixed Media Layout

Happy Friday! I have another mixed media layout to share with you. I really got my hands dirty on this one… I had a few mishaps along the way, but nothing I couldn’t fix… The colors are sooooo vibrant!

To begin, I coated white cardstock with the Dazzle Sorbet Paint. Then I used a heat gun to speed up the drying time. Once the paint was dry, I used the Bits of Grunge stencil and the Sandstone Stone Effects Dimensional Medium to create sand puddles for my background. When this stuff is dry, it totally looks like sand! 🙂 SO NEAT!

Initially, I was going to create some numbers in the background with the Mermaid Sorbet Dimensional Paint and a few stars using the Red Velvet, but the paint smeared… so I decided to mess it up…make it a bit grunge to cover my mistakes. It worked…

Here is a closer look at the sand puddles. Soooo neat. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate this medium.

I painted a piece of white cardstock using the Red Velvet Sorbet Paint to create a fun mat for the strip of photos.

Then I looked through my stash for a few embellishments to add to add dimension.

Products Used:

Colorations Sprays: Raider, Sandcastle

Stone Effects Dimensional Medium: Sandstone

Sorbet Dimensional Medium Paint: Mermaid, Red Velvet, Dazzle

Velvet Dimensional Paint: Tuxedo

Stencil: Bits of Grunge 6×9

“Fall” Layout featuring Velvet Paint Background

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here today to share a Fall inspired layout that boasts an array of Art Anthology Paints!  I’m hoping we have at least a small simulation of Fall this year here in the Deep South, but until then, one can dream and scrapbook about it!

The Velvet Paints are so yummy.  They have a thick consistency that dries with a super gorgeous and shimmery matte finish!  I randomly applied the paint with a palette knife and allowed it to air-dry.

While the background dried, I paint paper die-cut leaves with several colors of AA paints; I applied several colors at a time while they were wet or close to drying.  This allowed for a little color variation with each leaf.  Once these are completely dry, all that’s left to do is assemble the layout!  Here are some close-ups.

Whether it’s Shine, Velvets, or Sorbet, Art Anthology Paints work beautifully together to make your project come to life!

Art Anthology Supplies:
Velvets: “Mustard, Fiji, Tango”
Shine: “Azalea Pink, Kelly Green”
Sorbet: “Kenyan Copper, Vegas Gold”

Other Supplies:
cardstock, patterened paper
paper die-cuts and embellishments
tulle

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope that I have inspired you to get into your crafty space and get some ink on your hands!  If you need more inspiration, make sure you are following us on Pinterest and don’t forget to join our Facebook group Art Anthology Adventures in Art!

From The Heart a Mixed Media Tag by Lisa

Hi friends!

Lisa today on the blog and I’d love to share with you this mixed media tag playing with a lot of Art Anthology products!

To start I glued some pieces of tissue paper and old book pages on my tag with gel medium.

Then I brushed white gesso

I chose AA Stencil ” Messy Bubbles” and I made some stencils with modelling white paste.

Then I made some stamps with Archival black ink and I colored the background with Patience and Plush Colorations Sprays, using a round brush and water to give a watercolor effect.

After that I took Cotton Velvet Dimensional Paint and I made some splatters of colour with a fan brush.

I stamped some butterflies on a piece of watercolor paper and I colored them with Siesta Colorations Spray. Then I cutted them and I used as embellishments on my tag

I made some splatters again this time with Fiji Velvet Dimensional Paint to give more contrast on the background

I finished my tag adding some diecuts, stickers and sequins. On the black heart I brushed a little of Dazzle Sorbet Paint…..I love its glitter effect!

Now some close ups photos

I used these AA products:

Patience Colorations Spray

Plush Colorations Spray

Siesta Key Colorations Spray

Messy Bubbles Stencil

Cotton Velvet

Fiji Velvet

Dazzle Clear Coat

That’s all for today!
