Playing with Minx shimmering inks – no 3 !

Hi you, Art Anthology fans… Ellie Knol here today!

It’s good to be back after being to South Africa for a month…it wasn’t a holiday actually, but to bury my dear mom who passed away last month. I had nearly 2 weeks to sit with her and say goodbye. We were actually going to celebrate her 90 th birthday on the 19th, but she passed away 2 weeks before that. She had a fulfilled life… that’s for sure.

****

AS PROMISED… I am not finished playing with the MINX inks yet!

Today I chose to play with MINX inks in combination with a custom made ink pad. That’s really so much fun.. you MUST give it a try!

Please have a look at the Snapguide at the end of this post for step-by-steps of the 2 techniques in this post.

Technique ONE is using the inks on the pad for stamping.

Changing the above card with just a touch of 2 stencils.

******

Technique TWO is finishing up all that beautiful ink on your pad.

Using these backgrounds for one-of-a-kind cards.

Playing with Minx shimmering inks – no 2 !

Good day to you, Ellie Knol here!

Today I am featuring the Minx shimmering inks again, as promised in the post Playing with Minx shimmering inks on the 26th of November 2016.
After today I hope to do even some more in near future! I have a few more up my sleeve right now.

I’ve used the same colors for all the techniques on 3 projects.

For step-by-steps of all 6 techniques,
please see the Snapguide at the end of this post!

These inks are so versatile, for making backgrounds,
but also for using with bleach,

use with heat embossing as a resist,

coloring images,
watercoloring,
to stamp with,
and splattering.

in short, just PLAY with them!

Playing with Minx shimmering inks!

Hi, Ellie Knol again, and you may have noticed that the Design Team of Art Anthology is featuring the Minx shimmering inks lately.

So, I will be featuring them today as well.
They are great to make backgrounds for cards or maybe for an art journal page (or a canvas, or a watercolor painting etc etc).
For now : 4 different ways to use the inks.
.. .. I hope to do some more in near future!

Everything But The Kitchen Sink!

Kathy here today to play!  It’s all about techniques this month so I decided to use household products that most everyone has and see how they react to Art Anthology Colorations sprays. Here is what I used in my experimental play: 91% alcohol, sea salt, Citrasolv, baking soda and vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.  Disclaimer: No people or animals were harmed in the creation of this blog post.

I used only the Colorations sprays because they are more fluid than the paints. I also used Yupo, which is a synthetic paper made from plastic.  It has a non-porous surface that allows the wet media to stay on the surface as opposed to a more porous surface like watercolor paper.  I wanted the elements to react to each other without losing them to the paper.

When I was done playing I cut out rectangles from my experiments and created a collage with them. So let’s get started experimenting!

So go make something and play with your art supplies! You never know what you will come up with!
