Mixed Media Tag Set with Brandy

Hi all! Brandy here today to show you some tags I made. Pretty easy and so full of color. Tags are a great way to try out new colors and techniques. 🙂                                                                        If you have a heat tool to dry in between color changes they can be super fast to make, too!

I used the fussy cut butterflies for inspiration.

A little rustic, a lot of pretty! I love how they turned out!

I created a Snapguide tutorial if you’d like to give these a try!

All I Want For Christmas Is….. Mixed Media Gift Tags by Toni

Merry Christmas everyone, it will be the big day before you know it so you better get started with your gift wrapping.  This year I decided to decorate my tree with hues of teal and aqua and accented with chocolate & gold therefore; I wanted the packages to run with that theme also. I do notice that some of my photos came out looking a deep blue, they are really a pretty shade of aqua.

I always love to put a little bit of me when preparing a present to give someone. I decided to make my tags this year, little pieces of art to give all my loved ones. Art Anthology has some gorgeous colors to work with on my tags, from the Sorbet paints to the Coloration Sprays, you can’t go wrong.

I kept the tags pretty simple with embellishments, but the Mud Texture Paste used with AA’s pretty stencils give the foundation of the tags some yummy texture to work with.

The chipboard pieces were embossed with gold, patina and chocolate powders and Stickles were added here and there for a bit more sparkle.

I did use Snow-Tex also on some of the tags for a pretty snowy effect. These tags are so much fun to make, really costs pennys because you can use up little scraps of Christmas papers you have from years before for layering. Hope this has inspired you to give a little of yourself this Christmas by customizing some fun tags to put on those packages for your special loved ones. Wishes you a Christmas filled with Sparkle and Magic. xoxo Toni

Tag Your It by Toni

Hi everyone… it’s time to get messy with our Art Anthology products. Today I created some mixed media tags. I just love creating tags, they’re like little pieces of art. I can try out new techniques and just go wild with the products. tag15

These tags are #8 size manila T!m Holtz tags so they give you plenty of room to add yummy textures and colors. The background was created collaging old dress patterns, and then  I decided to color my AA Mud Texture Paste so I busted out my Velvet paint in Tuxedo and on one tag I used AA’s bee hive stencil and on the other tag I used dottie stencil.

tag17

Once dried I did some gessoing, stamping, sewing and added some lace trim. Mixed media is all about layers and layers of different mediums and these tags have that.

Wishing you a wonderful day and I invite you to sit back and check out my Snapguide tutorial below to see how I achieved these vintage style tags.

Fun With Tags!

Hi Art Anthology friends!  Kathy here today to have some creative fun using tags that I started in my June 24 post when I made flowers using Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies.  I had Colorations spray left on my craft mat and didn’t want to waste it so I swiped some tags through it.  I love the watercolor effect that happens when using this technique.  I want to make a few blue so I’ll review this technique in the Snapquide.  And since this month we are featuring quotes, I included one on each tag. AATags6-28

I felt compelled to use some supplies that I haven’t used for a while. So I gathered some fun rubber stamps……….

And took out my drawer full of hand painted scraps………

DSCN7724

And how long has it been since you’ve used these?

DSCN7729

I’ll bet you are hoarding a bunch like I am. Well, get them out and use them in a project today!!!

So, lets get to work! I mean play!!

So after completing all these tags, I learned a few things.  First, I will never enjoy making jewelry. I must have bad small motor skills because I had such a hard time attaching the jump rings to the eyelets and closing them back up! Second, I really enjoyed using the small 3″ x 5″ Gelli Arts plate to “stamp” the background onto the last two.  I will be doing that again! Third, tags are such fun little pieces of art and I will continue to create with them.

I would love to hear from you and find out which tag you like the best?
