Halloween tags with Daniëlle

Hello there!

It’s Daniëlle and I am still in Halloween mode 😉

So here are some cool Halloween tags for you:

Want to know how I created them? It’s really not that hard! So here’s a quick photo step by step:

1: add color with colorations spray. I used Juicy and Steel (which is a greyish color). I also added minx ink Radiance for some shimmer.

2: For texture and more interest I added some Tuxedo velvet through the Cracked stencil.

3: I wanted my tags to be less bright so I added in some Raider colorations spray.

4: Next I found myself a piece of lace which I colored with the colors I used before. So Raider and Juicy colorations and Randiance minx.

5: To make a nice tag I went to look for some embellishments. Add everything together and you have two nice Halloween themed tags.

That’s all! I hope you liked it and I hope to see you here again next time!

Fall fever tags with Daniëlle

Hi guys!

Daniëlle here with some fall tags for you. I love fall. I love the colors of nature this time around. Fall always seems to inspire me. For today I created you some cute tags:

I used these art anthology products:

Colorations spray: Timeless, Juicy, Warm

Minx ink: Decadent, Radiance

Stencil: Flower Burst

Stone effects: Brick

These are the steps I took to create my tags:

  1. glue down some collage and add a layer of clear gesso.

2. Add color with colorations spray and add drips using minx inks.

3. Add some washi tapes and add texture by applying stone effects through a stencil.

Close up of the texture:

4. Find yourself some nice scrapbookpaper and cut some pieces. Distress the edges and with a sponge and sme colorations spray ink, add color to the distressed edges.  I did this with two different kinds of paper, for each tag.

5. Put everything together and add embellishments. Choose a composition you like. I don’t think about these things very much. I just have a look and do what I like most.

Your tags are done! Ready to be used as giftlabels for example.

I hope you liked my little tutorial and look forward to see what you create with my techniques.

Remember to just have fun!!!

See you next time!

Japanese style bookmarks

Hello crafters !

Valerie again with a project inspired by my recent visit to a bookstore, where I bought two Japanese books. I have a soft spot for the beauty and elegance of Japanese culture, and it inspire me to create these bookmarks :

I choose colors reminding me of the Land of the Rising Sun : Timeless, Juicy and Barbie for the Colorations sprays, and Coral for the Sorbet Dimensional paint.

I choose the Blocked stencil as a reminder of the square design in the stamp, and the Retro one because it looks like colorful sun on the bookmark.

You will find the complete video tutorial on the Art Anthology YouTube channel.

Thank you for reading this post and see you soon for another project !

Did you ever try the Art Anthology stencils ? I used one on this project, the Such A Drip stencil, with Velvet Dimensional paint in Mardi Gras color. Look at the incredible texture it makes !

The colorations sprays were handy too to create the background or color the heart stamp.

Tag You’re It

Hi to all my crafty friends. As a new scrapbooker/crafter sometimes your not sure where to start when wanting to create something new… so let’s keep it simple today. Frankly, sometimes when I am going to make a project I have no idea what direction to go in. My creative juices aren’t flowing and I need a way to warm up with my paints. Tags are the perfect outlet for that because they are like little mini canvases. A place to try out new techniques, new products, play around a bit and give you that creative spark that you need to get you going.

Today I’m going to share a simple little tag that I created with luscious colors that remind me of fall. Several different techniques were used on this tag including, embossing, stamping, inking & distressing .dsc08450  First stamp your image using a waterproof ink such as Archival Ink or Versamark, that way your spray inks won’t cause your stamped image to bleed.dsc08427 Here is a photo of my stamped tag, the ink I used and the stamp.

dsc08425Next up, take your sprays and make puddles of them on your craft mat and swipe your tag through the colors. It’s amazing the results you get, and every time their different.

Using the edge of your scissors or a distress tool by Ideology, go around the edges of your tag to create some texture.

To add dimension to my tag I stamped another image of the sunflower and cut it out, then colored it with Minx Shimmering Ink, then applied it to the top of the tag with dimensional stickers.

For the final touch I embossed the edges with Ultra Thick Embossing powder in black and added my title. Very simple but a fun way to give my creativity a boost and get me going for my next projects. dsc08457

Here are a few more of my tags that I’ve created in the past. I hope this has inspired you to get out some tags and play around with your products. Go wild and get messy with your paints and inks, and grab yourself a cup of tea and enjoy the coolness of fall !
