Christmassy art journal page with Daniëlle

Hi there everyone!

I’m a big holiday season fan and I just love spending and enjoying time with my family during the holidays! So I was in a Christmassy (or messy LOL) mood when I created this art journal page!

Here’s a step by step tutorial so you can create one yourself:

1: I love to start with collage.

2: Next I added modelling paste through the Twilight stencil.

3: Adding color using colorations sprays clover and warm and a little bit of minx ink in color indulgence.

I also added some Fairy Dust in Gilded Gold for extra sparkle.

4: Next I added some scraps of paper.

5: In my last step I added some gold glitter washi tape and a text I like. Part of it I ‘wrote’ with Raider colorations spray and a brush, part are stickers and part are letter stamps.

That’s all, see you next time!

Journey Mixed Media Layout

Happy Friday! I have another mixed media layout to share with you. I really got my hands dirty on this one… I had a few mishaps along the way, but nothing I couldn’t fix… The colors are sooooo vibrant!

To begin, I coated white cardstock with the Dazzle Sorbet Paint. Then I used a heat gun to speed up the drying time. Once the paint was dry, I used the Bits of Grunge stencil and the Sandstone Stone Effects Dimensional Medium to create sand puddles for my background. When this stuff is dry, it totally looks like sand! 🙂 SO NEAT!

Initially, I was going to create some numbers in the background with the Mermaid Sorbet Dimensional Paint and a few stars using the Red Velvet, but the paint smeared… so I decided to mess it up…make it a bit grunge to cover my mistakes. It worked…

Here is a closer look at the sand puddles. Soooo neat. You have to see it in person to fully appreciate this medium.

I painted a piece of white cardstock using the Red Velvet Sorbet Paint to create a fun mat for the strip of photos.

Then I looked through my stash for a few embellishments to add to add dimension.

Products Used:

Colorations Sprays: Raider, Sandcastle

Stone Effects Dimensional Medium: Sandstone

Sorbet Dimensional Medium Paint: Mermaid, Red Velvet, Dazzle

Velvet Dimensional Paint: Tuxedo

Stencil: Bits of Grunge 6×9

A Journal Page

Hello, I have been somewhat artistically challenged lately, “artist block” they call it. Inspiration was hard to find! To help me overcome this I decided to try some art journaling. This usually helps me free up and ideas start to flow again. It was a slow uphill battle but I managed to get a page done.

A journal page

It wasn’t until I was editing the video did I realize that the quote I had chosen really resonates with what has been going on on my life.

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. – Aristotle

Anyway, I got it done and now it is time to show you how I did it!

These are the Art Anthology Supplies I used:

Colorations Sprays
Glorious
Raider

Fairy Dust Shimmer Spray – Silver

Stencils
Large Doily

Red Velvet Sorbet Dimensional Medium
Tango Velvet Dimensional Medium

Cute little canvas with Daniëlle

Hi everyone!

Daniëlle here with a cute little canvas for you!

I used:

Colorations spray: Plush, Siesta key

Fairy Dust: Ice

Velvet: Tuxedo

Stencil: small lotus stencil

Sorbet: Cayman, Bella boo (purple color)

Clear coat: Linen

Here’s a little step by step tutorial, so you can create one yourself:

  1. My base consists of collage with a layer of clear gesso.

2. Next, add color with Colorations sprays and sparkle with Fairy Dust.

3. Add a little texture by applying some velvet through a stencil.

4. For the wings I used a little different technique. I applied Cayman Sorbet, let it dry for a bit and then wiped of the excess sorbet with a baby wipe to create a dreamy look. I applied clear coat linen on the whole wing for extra sparkle.

5. The final step is to put it all together, find an image and text you like. I decided my canvas needed extra sparkle so I added some sorbet to my canvas.

I hope you liked my little tutorial, see you next time!

Halloween tags with Daniëlle

Hello there!

It’s Daniëlle and I am still in Halloween mode 😉

So here are some cool Halloween tags for you:

Want to know how I created them? It’s really not that hard! So here’s a quick photo step by step:

1: add color with colorations spray. I used Juicy and Steel (which is a greyish color). I also added minx ink Radiance for some shimmer.

2: For texture and more interest I added some Tuxedo velvet through the Cracked stencil.

3: I wanted my tags to be less bright so I added in some Raider colorations spray.

4: Next I found myself a piece of lace which I colored with the colors I used before. So Raider and Juicy colorations and Randiance minx.

5: To make a nice tag I went to look for some embellishments. Add everything together and you have two nice Halloween themed tags.

That’s all! I hope you liked it and I hope to see you here again next time!

Fall fever tags with Daniëlle

Hi guys!

Daniëlle here with some fall tags for you. I love fall. I love the colors of nature this time around. Fall always seems to inspire me. For today I created you some cute tags:

I used these art anthology products:

Colorations spray: Timeless, Juicy, Warm

Minx ink: Decadent, Radiance

Stencil: Flower Burst

Stone effects: Brick

These are the steps I took to create my tags:

  1. glue down some collage and add a layer of clear gesso.

2. Add color with colorations spray and add drips using minx inks.

3. Add some washi tapes and add texture by applying stone effects through a stencil.

Close up of the texture:

4. Find yourself some nice scrapbookpaper and cut some pieces. Distress the edges and with a sponge and sme colorations spray ink, add color to the distressed edges.  I did this with two different kinds of paper, for each tag.

5. Put everything together and add embellishments. Choose a composition you like. I don’t think about these things very much. I just have a look and do what I like most.

Your tags are done! Ready to be used as giftlabels for example.

I hope you liked my little tutorial and look forward to see what you create with my techniques.

Remember to just have fun!!!

See you next time!

Be Kind to Yourself Art Journal page by Lisa

Hi AA friends! Lisa today to share with you my last art journal spread, using AA Stencil, Colorations sprays and AA paints!

To start I prepped my page by brushing white gesso. Then I chose AA Flity Stencil and I used it with versamark pad and white embossing powder. With a brush and a little bit of water I used Colorations sprays (Salmon, Barbie and Glorious) until I was happy with the blend of colours.

After that I made some stamps with Archival ink pads and I glued some pieces of tissue paper. I used Sorbet Flamingo and Sorbet Black Leather Jacket to made some ink splatters

I glued some embellishments and I made other splatters with Velvet Beyond the Reef.

Here some close ups photos:

Hi guys!

How’s everyone doing? Summer break is over here in my region and I’m going back to work this week. So I’m carefully planning my creative me-time, because I need it!

I made you an art journal page this time.

If you want to create this too, you can follow my steps:

  1. Add velvet to your page with a paintbrush.

2. Using a babywipe and a stencil, wipe off some velvet to create an interesting background effect.

3. Add some background stamps

4. Add some extra colorand texture by applying the same velvet through the same stencil, only this time using a pallette knife.

5. Add some stone effects elements to your page.

6. While your background is drying, stamp and color an image. I use my colorations sprays as a watercolor for this step.

7. Take out your patina set and create a textured embellishment for your page.

8. Now put everything together and finish your page with a text stamp.

Here are some close ups for you:

This is the list of products that I used:

Velvet: Fiji
