Playing with Minx shimmering inks!

Hi, Ellie Knol again, and you may have noticed that the Design Team of Art Anthology is featuring the Minx shimmering inks lately.

So, I will be featuring them today as well.
They are great to make backgrounds for cards or maybe for an art journal page (or a canvas, or a watercolor painting etc etc).
For now : 4 different ways to use the inks.
.. .. I hope to do some more in near future!

I’ve used the same colors for all 4 techniques.

For step-by-steps of all 4 techniques,
please see the Snapguide at the end of this post!

Bucket List Cards

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today and this month we’ve been tasked to create with a bucket list in mind.  Now I can think of lots of ways to document a bucket list – a canvas, a journal, a wall hanging, etc.  But I decided to create several of my bucket list items on cards that remind me of what I want to do.

Check out How to Create Cards to Document a Bucket List by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

One item on my bucket list is to go up in a hot air balloon.  Since I had this wonderful stamp, I thought it would be appropriate for this challenge.

Another item on my bucket list is visiting Europe and specifically Paris.  So this card was not only fun to make but puts my dream of traveling to Europe up close and personal.

Christmas Canvas and Stamping

Hi, Veronica here today and Christmas is around the corner.  I decided to make a pretty Christmas Canvas using my Stampendous stamps.  I also wanted to try out some new product that Art Anthology gave us to play with.  The new product is a paste and I mixed it with my sorbet paint and my colorations spray.

So first I prepare my canvas with Art Anthology’s awesome gesso.  Below I posted my steps:

Now I am ready to move on with the design.  Above you can see that I added the new dot embedibles to the gesso while wet and let it dry.  I then added a Lagoon Velvet and Studio Blue colorations layer.

Next I used the Stampendous clear stamps “Christmas Diamonds (SSC1210)” to stamp on watercolor paper.  I cut out the images and colored them in with colorations studio blue and some copics

I wanted to try some new Art Anthology paste.  There are two kinds, the smooth and the rough.  You can add your paints and colorations to mix it in for color.

First the Smooth mixed in with sorbet:

Now the rough paste mixed in with colorations:

Using another one of Art Anthology’s new product “stencils” I used the bubble stencil with both the smooth and the  rough paste

Then the embellishments.  Some sparkle, some Dimensional Crystal …

I really liked the way my canvas turned out it is a bit shabby and a bit whimsical.  The finishing touches were the leaves and flowers.

Thank you for stopping by today, and I wish you Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays

IMG_6764

Every December I try to create one special thing for either the house or the tree that is festive for the holidays.  One year, I made our angel tree topper, another a shadow box of my grandchildren in their Santa hats.  This year, with the help of Art Anthology and Stampendous, I created a pretty little wreath ornament for our tree.

IMG_6743

Using the Creative Palette by Stupendous, I sprayed Corlorations in Salted Carmel, Guacamole, Grass and the new Gold onto the palette.  I used a brayer to blend them.  I pressed canvas paper onto the mixture and shiny paper as well to get two distinct surfaces.

IMG_6737

As I was cleaning up with textured paper towels, I found I really liked the colors that I was seeing so I used the towels as well.  I let all 3 surfaces dry completely before my next step.

IMG_6753

I took the angel wings stamp by Stampendous (LOVE it) and stamped all 3 surfaces at least ten times.  I really like how the stamp set came with its own base.

IMG_6746

IMG_6749

The images stamped onto the paper towel feel and look like velvet which gave my project a whole new dimension and added more texture.

Next I cut a 3 inch circle out of heavy chipboard, cut out the center and painted both front and back with Art Anthology’s Sorbet in Chocolate .  This became the base for my wreath.  I love how this color just has the right touch of sparkly goodness.

IMG_6756

Next I cut out the wings from the canvas, shiny paper and textured paper towels and cut them in half.  I began over lapping them, alternating as I went.  I used Beacon’s 3 in 1 Adhesive with just a dab on the base of each wing.

IMG_6752

I entwined thin ribbon as I went.

IMG_6759

I hung the wreath in the tree near lights so all the sparkle would show best.

IMG_6762

This ornament could be used for a package topper as well and the size is easily adjustable.  Just cut more or less angel wings and make the base larger or smaller.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday, this is Jules.

IMG_4654

IMG_4655

so i started by stamping using archival ink onto the kraft pieces…i absolutely love black on kraft!!

IMG_4656

but…. a little bit of bling is always nice right!! so i added a bit of sparkle to the centre and a little star from the embedibles collection

IMG_4657

i also stamped the wings onto the wings..love that they were literally made for each other!!! how spectacular is that!

IMG_4659

hmmm.. love these stamps!!
IMG_4669

now it is time to dig out some stone effects. i figured i would bring a little more red into my project…. so covered all my letters and let them dry before stamping

IMG_4675

IMG_4689

Hello everyone!! diana here to welcome you to Day 2 of the  Art Anthology/Stampendous Blog Hop.  This week, we are partnering with each other this week to offer you tons of inspiration using products from Art Anthology and Stampendous.  Make sure you check back through the day as there will be several projects posted each day.

so for my project i started out spraying various colorations onto my watercolour paper

IMG_4617 IMG_4619

i sprayed and sprayed until i had some great pools of colour and then i blasted them with the heat gun.

IMG_4620

my next step was to apply and all over sheen to my page using a brand new Art Anthology product , DIAMONDS!!!!

the light you see in the centre of this picture is the sheen from the spray!! isn’t it the freakin coolest. wait until you see another shot of it further down my posting!!!
close up of diamond spray

now here is where Stampendous takes over.

today’s project i am using the Mixed Media Brush Strokes Rubber stamp set.

diamond in the sky

aren’t the details in these stamps amazing!!
IMG_4637IMG_4638

IMG_4639

now along with this stamp set comes a Free Template which allows  you to create a large or small splatter area. so out came my gesso and a blending tool and i was all set to create my splatters!!

IMG_4641

i absolutely love where this was going

IMG_4642now remember, this comes with all the pieces required to create this wonderful splat effect INCLUDING the mask portion which i put back in place in order to create just the smaller splats with out fear of edging into the bigger splat area

IMG_4646now here is my page with all its splatters

IMG_4647well all of its Stampendous splatters that is. now it is time to add those extra bits i mentioned above with my new Art Anthology Diamond spray!

for these splatters i just took the sprayer out of the bottle and flicked onto my page

diamond fleckshere though i squirted it which allowed a bigger droplet to come out onto my page. i am in LOVE

IMG_4685now it was time to finish off my page.

i loved how this page made me feel… made me think a little deeper. i might hang it to remind myself daily that changing ones world has to start from with in.

IMG_4794

a reminder: to change the world all one has to do is change the way one feels inside.
