Make It Happen – A Journal Page

Hello, today I am sharing a journal page that I made using Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint and their Large Doily stencil. I also used my gelatin plate to print that fabulous background.

Be Kind to Yourself Art Journal page by Lisa

Hi AA friends! Lisa today to share with you my last art journal spread, using AA Stencil, Colorations sprays and AA paints!

To start I prepped my page by brushing white gesso. Then I chose AA Flity Stencil and I used it with versamark pad and white embossing powder. With a brush and a little bit of water I used Colorations sprays (Salmon, Barbie and Glorious) until I was happy with the blend of colours.

After that I made some stamps with Archival ink pads and I glued some pieces of tissue paper. I used Sorbet Flamingo and Sorbet Black Leather Jacket to made some ink splatters

I glued some embellishments and I made other splatters with Velvet Beyond the Reef.

Here some close ups photos:

Here you can find the step by step video process:

I used these products on my project:

Art Journal Pages by Lisa

Hi friends! Lisa here today to show you my last art journal pages, made with beautiful Velvet paints & Stencil by Art Anthology!

To start I brushed my pages with white gesso. Then I cutted some pieces of tissue paper, old book pages, scrapbook papers and washi taped and glued on the background with gel medium to make a collage

After with a spatula I applied white gesso to mix the background

I made some stamps with archival inks black and pink. Even if I had to repeat some of them after the coloring process I like to see some signs under the colors, it makes texture!

I chose Velvet Dimensional Paints (Boysenberry, Beyond the Reef and Cotton) and Sorbet Dimensional Paint Flamingo. I applied the colors directly with my fingers, they are so creamy and delicious!

After I applied the Cotton velvet paint to blend the background and to make some stencil. I used 6×9 Lotus from Art Anthology

I still made some stamps and I used a black watercolor pencil to make some marks. I used Cotton paint to make some splatters and I let it dry.

Finally I prepared some embellishments and I glued on my pages. Here some close up photos of my project

I used these Art Anthology products on my project:

Cotton Velvet

Boysenberry Velvet

Beyond the Reef Velvet

Flamingo Sorbet

Lotus Stencil 6×9

Newborn wall hanger…

Ellie Knol here today…
and I created a wall hanger for you…

Making this project took me over a week… trial and error… starting, not being satisfied, and changing details all the time.. it was a bit frustrating, but I am happy with it now.

I started with a tiny blue t-shirt, with text on it that I wanted covered. I was happy with the outcome of the shirt straight away.. just added some white highlights later on.

But the base… grrrr… If you look at the step-by-step in the Snapguide tutorial, you’ll see what I mean.

I like this detail in the background!

The finished project…

…hope this little newborn boy will see it later on in his life and be happy with it! His mommy will, anyway!

I’ve created a Snapguide tutorial for you:

I hope that I have inspired you to think out of the box.. and keep trying when it doesn’t turn out as you imagined it.

Japanese style bookmarks

Hello crafters !

Valerie again with a project inspired by my recent visit to a bookstore, where I bought two Japanese books. I have a soft spot for the beauty and elegance of Japanese culture, and it inspire me to create these bookmarks :

I choose colors reminding me of the Land of the Rising Sun : Timeless, Juicy and Barbie for the Colorations sprays, and Coral for the Sorbet Dimensional paint.

I choose the Blocked stencil as a reminder of the square design in the stamp, and the Retro one because it looks like colorful sun on the bookmark.

You will find the complete video tutorial on the Art Anthology YouTube channel.

Thank you for reading this post and see you soon for another project !

Just playing – on an art journal page

I played, yes .. and I had fun..!!

Ellie Knol here today…

I decided to just go with the flow… and see where that would take me. I grabbed all sorts of colors that I thought would be nice together, greens, blues, oranges and a red, velvets, sorbets and a gemstones.
art-anthology-artjournal-face-collage-ellie-knol-22

Here you can see the first 3 greens: Leaf Sorbet, Limited Velvet and Emerald Gemstones, scraping a tiny bit randomly over the page to make transparant layers.  Don’t try to cover the whole of it with each color, just here and there, and sometimes overlapping. After this step I’ve used lots more colors. For that, go see the Snapguide at the bottom of the post.

Those eyes really are an eye-catcher on the page – LOVE it!

Upcycle a mirror frame !

Good day to you all from me, Ellie Knol !
.. glad you’re having a look here!
I have a fun project for you today!

When I found an old mirror frame in my (always growing) to-be-altered stash, I immediately knew I wanted to re-use it, with a purpose!
artanthology-groenzwart-spiegel-ellieknol-16

I chose for the lagoon color, as my daughter has a wall with this color in her new home.

Hope she will like it.

LOVE the cracking, and added color of the Lagoon Velvet Dimensional Paint.
Also.. the black underneath the cracks, has a beautiful shimmer to it from the Black Leather Jacket Sorbet Dimensional Paint.

Create 12×12 backgrounds with Colorations, stencils and sorbet

Hi, Ellie Knol here again today!

See what magic you can create by just playing with the products from Art Anthology!!

Today I’ll take you through the steps of creating a 12×12 background with sorbets, Colorations ink sprays, stencils, texture paste and gesso. It can be cut up to smaller pieces for cards, ATC’s or maybe a board for home-decorating.

art-anthology-terragroen-masterboard-background-cat-collage-ellie-knol-25The card above has been created from an A6 part of the background.

art-anthology-terragroen-masterboard-background-cat-collage-ellie-knol-21

I LOVE the structure from the stencils and texture paste, and the depth the sprayinks give. art-anthology-terragroen-masterboard-background-cat-collage-ellie-knol-23

Some detail:

I plan to make a board for home decorating from this A5 size part of the background.  art-anthology-terragroen-masterboard-background-cat-collage-ellie-knol-18

Hope I’ve inspired you again to get messy fingers too!
