“Imagine” – An Upcycling Project

Hello, today I am sharing with you an upcycling project. Guess what the substrate is? Did you guess a sardine tin? Isn’t that crazy? To think you can turn a sardine tin into a work of art! All you need are Art Anthology mixed media paints!

Imagine

In this piece, I used the Art Anthology Rust Texture Set to create that amazing rust look on the tin. The tin was not actually rusty!  I added some simple embellishments; gauze, a tiny piece of paper and corrugated cardboard, a word sticker, and a butterfly.

Imagine

Isn’t that amazing! You too can easily make this one of a kind masterpiece. I have a supply list and video tutorial below.

Make your own rust effects with Art Anthology!

Hello Art Anthology Fans!! Dream Team member Brandy here today to share my project inspired by our moodboard over on the Facebook group page, Art Anthology Adventures in Art!
This month’s board features some awesome rusty objects! If you haven’t played along yet, what are you waiting for!? 🙂

I’ve heard of other companies having mediums that look like rust, so naturally I had to see if we could make our own with Art Anthology products! Turns out, I only had to add one ingredient to some paint……and it was sand!

With a combination of “sandy” Kenyan Copper Sorbet and Radiance Minx Shimmering Ink I was able to come up with something that looks pretty darn close! 🙂

I made a Snapguide tutorial for this project!

Check out How to Make Rust Effects With Art Antholgy Products by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

And don’t forget a little bit of sand! 😀

Have Fun With A Rusty Technique by Toni

Hi everyone, Toni here inspired by our beautiful mood board this month, with yummy texture and deep bold colors. Rust is probably one of my favorite color palettes to create with and I was so excited to start working with it.

I found an egg crate in the trash and decided to alter it as an Easter project. Wonderful AA products provided easy transformation for this trash article.

The cross was made from air dry clay and then crackled with AA’s products seeping into the cracks.

With some texture powder added to my paints it gave me a nice gritty texture.

This was such a fun and unexpected transformation. I hope this has inspired you to get creative with our products. Wishing you a blessed Easter Holiday and creative days ahead.

The following Art Anthology products were used:

Velvet- Portabello, Terracotta

Stone Effect-Sandstone

Metal Effect-Gold

Sorbet-Chocolate, Mint Julep, Cayman, Black Leather Jacket
