Dreamer of Dreams by Farrel Tailor

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! Farrel here to share with you all an altered frame I created using lots of Art Anthology mixed media goodies!!!

Dreamer of Dreams Frame by Farrel Tailor

I stared by painting my Dusty Attic chipboard frame with white gesso, then used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche on the base and Sorbet Dimensional Paint – Vegas Gold on the top layer.

Next I tore a piece of paper from an old book and sprayed it with Colorations Sprays – Warm and Sandcastle. I then adhered this piece to the back of the chipboard frame.

I stamped a mixture of butterflies onto some white cardstock (prima stamps) and used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche and Colorations sprays – Plush, Peacock Feathers and Siesta Keys to colour the butterflies.

One of a Kind Mixed Media Tag by Farrel Tailor

Hi there Art Anthology Fans!! Farrel here to share with you all a mixed media tag I created using lots of AA products. There is also a process video at the end of the blog so feel free to watch me in action.

  1. I started my tag by using Stone Effects – Bone with Art Nuveau stencil. After drying with my heat tool, I then added white gesso and also applied some crackled paste.

2. Once dry and all my elements on the tag have been adhered and covered with white gesso, I then applied Colorations Color Spray – Siesta Key. Next I used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panache on the background and used a little bit of water to help the ink spread around the tag.

3.  After the ink has dried, I then spray Colorations Color Spray Peacock Feathers to create some depth to the tag. To break up some of the blue on the tag, I then used Rust Texture Set on some of the elements on the tag.

4. After adhering my chipboard butterfly, I then added Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent. Then to finish off the tag, I added the gold paste from Rust Texture Set to highlight.

 AA products products used:

Stencil – Art Nuveau

Colorations  – Siesta Key, Peacock Feathers

Spooky Shadow Box by Farrel Tailor

Hi there everyone, Farrel here today to share with you all my first Halloween Project.

  1. I painted all my chipboard pieces and shadowbox with black gesso. I then applied Sandstone Stone Effects using a palette knife to the box and Gargoyles.

2.  I then used Cotton Velvet Dimensional Paint to add highlights to the chipboard pieces.

3. Next I dry brushed onto the shadowbox using Cotton Velvet Dimensional Paint.

4.  I painted my potion bottles using Sorbet Dimensional Paint in Black Leather Jacket…. I LOVE this colour.

5. The bottles needed some more texture as they got lost in the box so I added some Sandstone Stone Effects but I made sure I didn’t cover the pieces.

6. Next I painted some of the bottles with Kenyan Copper Sorbet Dimensional Paint

7. Finally before adhering everything together, I used Peacock Feathers Colorations Spray to colour the other potion bottles and used the left over spray on my desk to dry brush on the shadow box.
