Mechanical Love by Toni

Hi everyone, hope you are having a creative month and enjoying our wonderful mood board provided for inspiration.

My layout is featuring my daddy that was taken probably about 60 years ago. He was a metal pourer and made machine parts. Hard and dangerous work, but he loved it. One of my most favorite thing about layouts is layering and dimension and this layout has that and more.

Art Anthology paints mixed with craft sand that I purchased at the $1.00 store gives an great way to create your own rusty wonderfulness.

The Metal Effects Sillver stippled on the chipboard gave it a metal-like appearance that peeps through the rusty goodness.

This color palette is one of my fav’s and I enjoyed working with my fathers’ photo so much. I hope this has inspired you to go get yourself some craft sand and mix away with your paints. I really think this will work well in our Art Anthology Stencils as well …… hummm ideas for my next project perhaps…..

Have a spectacular week and for your pleasure check out my Snapguide Tutorial for a step x step process for my layout.

Fairy door scene tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends !

Irit is here and I welcome to my second December post for Art Anthology.

irit_sig

This time I made a totally different project: altered Fairy door  chipboard set from Tando Creative.

img_7341

I used chipboards and Art Anthology products only with the small add- on of Makin’s Clay molded fairies added to the finished project.

As always I made a small tutorial for you. I even made my own paint tool from the old (or new) tooth brush.

img_7340

Each chipboard piece was painted in the different way to get a different effect. There are stone effect, wood effect, painted  leaves and a mushroom, ” metal” hinges and pastel fairies. And each effect was made just with Art Anthology paints and sprays.

Here is a piece of the project with ” metal” hinges, painted fairy, 3d mushroom and some leaves. You can also see the wooden door and it really looks like an old, peeled wood.

img_7339

Here is another look at the fairy, leaves, wood and stone effect that was made with paints only.

It was so much fun to make this project and to see the final result!

Time flies mini canvas with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends ! Irit is here again and this time I made a mini card size canvas with some gorgeous Art Anthology products.

This project was made because of a stencil. When I see Time Flies words I make a Mixed Media project that is all about time using clocks and gears and things that are connected to a time issue. But then working on 7*5” canvas doesn’t leave you a lot of space to add many things over. So I just add mediums and textures and Art Anthology products are just perfect for this matter.

Here how the finished project looks:

And as few close- ups to show the texture and the painted parts:

Play with pattern by Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here. Today I want to show You layout with handmade pattern paper. I was inspired by one of the Bellaboulevard papers from “She blooms” collection and I thought: why not to make a similar paper by my own?

DSC_1578 DSC_1583

It was simple, black and white graphic design with polka dots. I just took white 12*12 cardstock, brush and black Velvet paint “Tuxedo” and painted dots. I waneted them to look like hand painted so didn’t measure anything. It was fast and easy job.

DSC_1477

I also painted flowers cutted with Cameo. Pink color looks very nice on this graphic black and white background.

As always, I have a process video for You. I hope You will be isnpired to create Your own patterned papers. You can paint stripes, dots, triangles.

Thank You for stopping by and see You in two weeks.

Canvas “You and me” by Anna Komenda

Hello Art Anthology fans. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with AA goodies.

I like creating canvas. They can be easily displayed around the house. You can also add more dimensional embellishments as You don’t have to worry if it will all fit into the pocket of the album. And it’s really easy to work on the surface that is already covered with the protective base like gesso.

I usually make colorful projects but I had this picture of me and my husband on our wedding day and I wanted to create something more romantic.

DSC_8841 DSC_8848

I wanted to play with shades of mint, pink and gold with a light vintage touch.

DSC_8837

I used beautiful wood veneers from Melissa Frances to create a background. Clock faces vere just perfect to highlight the age of the photo. It was taken more than nine years ago but I feel like it was a blink of an eye from present day.

DSC_8826 DSC_8830

My composition is quite simple. I also didn’t want to cover everything with a thick amount of medias. I just wanted to achieve this airy, light look with a shimmer of colors.

DSC_8831

You can watch whole process on the video below.

I hope You will enjoy watching it. Thank You for stopping by and don’t forget to share Your projects with Art Anthology mediums on our FB Group Art Anthology Adventures in art.

Canvas “Sea”

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my newest inspiration. I want to show You today a mixed media canvas with sand, waves and blue sky. It’s this kind of project that You create just for fun. Full of experiments, playing with colors and mediums.

I also prepared a process video for You.

DSC_6802a

DSC_6812a

I used 8*8 canvas as a base. I was inspired by the beautiful blue Velvet and Sorbets. Last time I showed You layout created with them. This time I thought that they will look awesome as a shades of sea surface.

DSC_6826a

I created two different parts on one canvas – heavy, full of textures sea and soft, watercolor sky. I love how many possibilities You have with many kind od mediums such as mists or dimensional paints.

DSC_6828a DSC_6833a

I was finally able to use my Prima reisins that I bought ages ago. I painted them with a brush. Thanks to that the blended perfectly in my canvas.

And here is my video:

Thank You for stopping by.

Fresh Start Spring Canvas – By Toni

Hi everyone… Toni here with my first design team post and I’m so excited to share with you a project that I made using the gorgeous Art Anthology paints. It’s soon to be spring here in the U.S. and I love this time of year. The grass is greener, the flowers are blooming, birds chirping, everything seems to have a “Fresh Start”, and that’s what inspired my design team canvas.

Using a burlap canvas to provide me with some wonderful texture was my base as well as some grass wire that I purchased in the Easter section of my craft store.

DSC07792

So many different paints were utilized in different ways to achieve my look. Art Anthology’s products are so versatile. DSC07775

I hope you can take a moment to view my Snapguide tutorial on my step x step process…
Have a spectacular day, and Happy Spring !
