Altered tissue box

Hello !

Valerie there today with another altered project ! I moved recently and found a sad wood tissue box in one of my cabinet ready to be upgraded ! Look at the result first :

The box was covered in lace, with lot of embellishments like flowers, buttons, pearls, stones, and chipboards on the top, then covered with white gesso before adding some colors…

I used two type of mediums in this project : Colorations sprays and Sorbet mediums. The Colorations sprays are Siesta Key and Peacock Feathers.

I used the Sorbet dimensional mediums in Cayman, Mermaid and Vegas Gold as touch ups with a small brush.

Love this color gradient ! It’s soft and vibrant at the same time !

Hello everyone!

I swear I was gonna use the beautiful AA moodboard in my project ! But I don’t know what happened, the red turn into a more pinkish color and the turquoise transformed itself into mint! So instead of creating a more Christmas like project, I ended up with a Spring project. Am I early or what ? Anyway here is my mixed media project :

The base is a wooden deer head, decorated with air dry clay embellishments and flowers, then covered with gesso. Once dry I used some Art Anthology magic to make it more vivid…

We have two colors here, for two kinds of products. First the pink: it’s the Valentine Colorations spray. You can switch to Barbie Colorations as it’s not in the store anymore.

The green is another AA products, a Minx – Shimmering ink in Bankroll. Both are working very well together !

So OK it’s not a Christmas vibe, but I do love the result!

Ellie Knol here again, yes, sadly for the last time now, as I step down from the design team after being here for a year..

…but don’t be sad, there are very talented new design team members already here now!

Thanks Stayce for having me, I really had fun working (playing) with your beautiful product! They will stay in my stash and I am sure I will USE them!

This time I chose to alter a book into a bookbox. It was a looooooot of work!

I gave myself some homework: and I must say: mission accomplished…

I wanted to know whether I like to work on a white or black surface better?! I still don’t know the answer.. I like them both.

I chose to use the colors from the current moodboard:

Me, Ellie Knol, again. showing you some fun ways to create an art journal spread with Colorations Sprays and stencils.

PLEASE NOTE : for more pictures and a step-by-step please have a look at the Snapguide tutorial I’ve created for you (end of the post!)!

Apply gesso over the pages and stamp in it with a script. When it’s dry, Color it with Colorations Sprays.

Use the Chevron stencil to color with Barbie Colorations spray.

The bookpage the flowers were diecut from; a cleanup page from paints on the Gothic stencil.

An easy but so versatile technique: use your acrylic blok to stamp (or smoosh) paint onto paper,
or any other surface for that matter.

… AND you can actually stamp in the wet paint too! With a script stamp for example!

It’s an all shimmery yummy textural happy background!

Only difference with the previous one (except for the color) : I misted the paint ánd the cardstock with water before smoooooooshing.

Lazy days of summer are nearly over!

Hello !

Valerie with you today to showcase my last layout using lots of stencils and mediums from Art Anthology ! Will you recognize the featured products…?

You can spot some of the AA stencils and mediums : Dot Matrix with Leaf Sorbet Dimensional medium and 6×9 Scales with Mayan Gold Velvet.

Granny Smith, Clover and Sandcastle Colorations sprays to color the laces and Mayan Gold Velvet to paint the acrylic letters.

The flower die cuts and the leaves were sprayed with Avocado Colorations spray to match the layout.

Playing with Minx shimmering inks – no 5

Ellie Knol again here today.

I decided to make backgrounds with Minx Shimmering Inks, on all types of paper.

It is really easy, and relaxing to do while enjoying the sun…

As promised, this time I’ll show the ones that had some white heat embossing, gesso and acrylic paint on it before coloring with Minx. Also some on canvas paper.
