“Fall” Layout featuring Velvet Paint Background

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here today to share a Fall inspired layout that boasts an array of Art Anthology Paints!  I’m hoping we have at least a small simulation of Fall this year here in the Deep South, but until then, one can dream and scrapbook about it!

The Velvet Paints are so yummy.  They have a thick consistency that dries with a super gorgeous and shimmery matte finish!  I randomly applied the paint with a palette knife and allowed it to air-dry.

While the background dried, I paint paper die-cut leaves with several colors of AA paints; I applied several colors at a time while they were wet or close to drying.  This allowed for a little color variation with each leaf.  Once these are completely dry, all that’s left to do is assemble the layout!  Here are some close-ups.

Whether it’s Shine, Velvets, or Sorbet, Art Anthology Paints work beautifully together to make your project come to life!

Art Anthology Supplies:
Velvets: “Mustard, Fiji, Tango”
Shine: “Azalea Pink, Kelly Green”
Sorbet: “Kenyan Copper, Vegas Gold”

Other Supplies:
cardstock, patterened paper
paper die-cuts and embellishments

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope that I have inspired you to get into your crafty space and get some ink on your hands!  If you need more inspiration, make sure you are following us on Pinterest and don’t forget to join our Facebook group Art Anthology Adventures in Art!

Nature Is But A Canvas To The Imagination

Inspired by our beautiful mood board this month I decided to play with some leaves, twigs and dried flowers.

This is one of my most favorite times of the year. There is a brisk coolness in the air and I love all the beautiful deep changing colors. While cleaning up the yard I came across some gorgeous leaves and I thought they would assist beautifully in a fall canvas. I began by adhering my leaves and foliage to the canvas using matt gel and then gave it a nice coat of clear gesso in order to prime the surface for my mediums. The translucency of Art Anthology’s sprays are gorgeous and allowed the leaves to show through on the canvas while still enhancing the background with their vivid colors. Natural wood pieces were used for the base for the title “Mother Nature has the best box of crayons” which I felt was appropriate for this piece. Hope you were inspired and I encourage you to get creative with our mood board this month. Don’t forget to post your project so we can all enjoy and be inspired by you as well HERE. For your please, grab a cup of tea and enjoy my Snapguide tutorial below. Creatively yours, Toni

The following Art Anthology products were used:

Thankful for You by Toni

Happy Thanksgiving y’all. Hope everyone is having a wonderful month. Today I’m here to share a frame I made featuring my sweet baby boy, Bubba. dsc08630

With the use of my wonderful Art Anthology’s Minx Shimmering Inks I was able to transform some $1.00 store foliage into a pretty fall frame for my desk. dsc08545 dsc08552

The wonderful texture achieved with AA’s Mud Texture Paste combined with seed beads and the gorgeous Dimensional paints in so many vibrant colors, made it easy to get the look I was going for.

With a little gesso to prime even the hardest surfaces to cover, the Minx Shimmering Inks colors these butterflies perfectly.

The leaves in the corner were colored also with the Minx and then embossed 3 times with Ultra Embossing Enamel which provided a glass-like effect… So pretty. From a broken down frame to a new addition for my decor, this project was messy, fun, and effective. Hope you have been inspired. And for your enjoyment, feel free to grab yourself a cup of hot cider sit back and relax while you view my Snapguide tutorial below. Also below,  are all the pretty products used from Art Anthology. Many blessings to you and your family at this holiday season.

Sunflowers in September

Hi Art Anthology friends! Kathy here today.  A recent trip home to Pennsylvania reminded me of how much I love sunflowers.  I attended the wedding of my nephew, and his bride loves sunflowers and they were everywhere.  I painted them a large sunflower canvas for a gift and everyone liked it so much that I decided to do another one.

Here are several photos I took of the sunflowers I saw at the wedding.

I love the little bumblebee I caught having his dinner!!

See how I created this sunflower using lots of texture and many layers .

I pick You with AA and Kitsnbits

It Fall!  Well in most of the country, here in S. Florida not so much.  But I love the fall colors and I had this adorable photo of my niece so I had to scrap it!  Yes, you can use paints and sprays on your scrapbook pages and here is how:

Lay down the layers of paper that you want to use, I always start with cardstock.  I also found this wood frame on sale at Michaels (yeah, score)

I painted the wood frame with “Kenya Copper” sorbet, brushing it on with the new Art Anthology tools.

I then took out my brand new stencils by Art Anthology Dot Matrix and Bee Hive

and my “Sand Dune” sorbet and “Truffle” velvet and added texture to the corners of my layout

Next I picked out my spray colorations.  I had distressed the edges of the paper and the shreds were white so I sprayed the paper so that the white wouldn’t show.

That was it.  I didn’t want to go all out mixed media because I wanted the photo of my niece to be the main feature but I did add lots of flowers!

Thank you for stopping by, remember to use some Art Anthology on your layouts and happy fall.
