Create Clay Embellishments With Art Anthology

Kathy here today to share how I created these fun clay embellishments.  I’ve been wanting to play with clay for a while so I bought some cheap terra cotta air dry clay at Michaels.  I’m sure I didn’t spend more than $10 for a 5lb box.  I made lots of small embellishments and two larger pieces that I broke into smaller pieces for a broken china look.  Art Anthology mediums made these little artsy clay embellishments bright and shimmery!

I ended up making three canvases and had lots of clay pieces left over to add a touch of handmade art to future projects.

Canvas “Meadow” by Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with Art Anthology goodies. I have a lot of beautiful Sorbet and Velvet paints and I thought: if they are paints why not to paint with them? They are thick, have different finish but why not to give it a try? Sorbets and Velvets are great for adding some texture to the projects so I also wanted to create a painting with a little texture. So today I want to show You a painting. Or something like that because I am not a painter at all.

I decided to paint sime flowers, kind of a meadow. They are quite easy to sketch and You can create Your own shapes and compositions. I didn’t want to create a realistic painting.

DSC_8259a DSC_8271a

First step was to sketch my flowers. After that there were only pure joy of adding colors.

DSC_8273a

I used Sorbet, Velvets and Gemstones. They all have different finish which gave some nice look to my canvas. Some parts of flowers are matte and some are glossy.

DSC_8283a

Thing You have to remember If You want to create Your own painting with Sorbets and Velvets is to add another layers on dry paint. If You won’t dry it they will mix together creating not so pretty shades.

DSC_8285a DSC_8287a

When my painting was done I decided I need some black lines around my flowers. I took a pen nib and black ink and draw the lines.

If You are curious how my creative process looked like, I have a video for You 🙂

Thank You for stopping by.

Hi Crafty Friends!

Hi Crafty Friends Phyllis Fernandez here to share my first Design Team project for Art Anthology.  I am humbled and super excited to be a part of the Dream Team!

I love creating 12×12 scrapbook layout pages!  So that’s what I will be sharing with you today!

DSC00025 (1)

Although my favorite color to create with is any blue,  the Salmon and French Toast colorations sprays,  Garnet and Rhodolite Gemstones,  and Enchanting Minx were what I grabbed first!  They worked well together.

DSC00032

I LOVE lots of texture,  more is better in my book!!!  😀

DSC00016 (1)

The flowers matched perfectly with Art Anthology products I used!    So Yummy!!!

DSC00019 (1)

I painted Rhodolite Gemstones on the chipboard pieces and WOW I am in LOVE with the Gemstones,  the texture is awesome and it dries quickly!

I did some stenciling for the background using Art Anthology’s Mud.

DSC00030

I also love to distress my edges,  gives more dimension to a layout!

DSC00018 (1)

I always love to use beads and microbeads for added interest and texture.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I hope that I’ve inspired you to create something beautiful!

Gelli Printed Journals

Happy 2016!  Kathy here today and I am going to have some fun with the Gelli Arts printing plate.  I will show you techniques using many of the Art Anthology products, including the new Sorbet and Velvet paints colors as well as the new Minx Shimmering Inks.  With the finished prints, I made some beautiful little journals that I embellished with die-cuts, ribbon, and tags from my stash .

Disclaimer: Gelli Arts Gelli printing is highly addictive.  Enter the Snapguide at your own risk.

The orange print above is the one that I used Minx Ink on and “lost” the butterfly image.  So I stamped it in using the same stamp in red.

DSCN9588

The above print is my favorite.  I is a “ghost print” (second pull) where I brayered blue on the top of the plate and orange on the bottom then used stamps to remove the color.

DSCN9587 DSCN9586 DSCN9579 DSCN9578

For the covers, I used a marbling technique that you can check out here.

Hi peeps, Marleen here with an Art Journal page.

He is the inventor of the toothbrush.
