All I Want For Christmas Is….. Mixed Media Gift Tags by Toni

Merry Christmas everyone, it will be the big day before you know it so you better get started with your gift wrapping.  This year I decided to decorate my tree with hues of teal and aqua and accented with chocolate & gold therefore; I wanted the packages to run with that theme also. I do notice that some of my photos came out looking a deep blue, they are really a pretty shade of aqua.

I always love to put a little bit of me when preparing a present to give someone. I decided to make my tags this year, little pieces of art to give all my loved ones. Art Anthology has some gorgeous colors to work with on my tags, from the Sorbet paints to the Coloration Sprays, you can’t go wrong.

I kept the tags pretty simple with embellishments, but the Mud Texture Paste used with AA’s pretty stencils give the foundation of the tags some yummy texture to work with.

The chipboard pieces were embossed with gold, patina and chocolate powders and Stickles were added here and there for a bit more sparkle.

I did use Snow-Tex also on some of the tags for a pretty snowy effect. These tags are so much fun to make, really costs pennys because you can use up little scraps of Christmas papers you have from years before for layering. Hope this has inspired you to give a little of yourself this Christmas by customizing some fun tags to put on those packages for your special loved ones. Wishes you a Christmas filled with Sparkle and Magic. xoxo Toni

Hi there ! Valerie today to show you how to upcycle your old ornament with Art Anthology paints !

I have more than few of those old scratched ornament in my basement, and wanted to upgrade them for this Christmas, so I came up with an idea, and I will share it with you… I started with the ugly blue one on the picture and ended with the red on the back ! I made a video tutorial following the exact same techniques to make a white one… You will find the tutorial and the list of AA products at the end of this post.

After applying gesso over the ornament, I use Dimensional paint in Stone effect to cover it, plus gelato and gold Fairy Dust. Flowers are covered with gold Metal Effect paint or Red Velvet Sorbet.

What’s Baking In The Kitchen with Toni

It’s that time of year when everything is glistening, Christmas music is playing, and the smell of cookies fills your home. Today I have a fun and easy project that the children can participate in preparation for the holidays. We are going to make salt dough Christmas cookie ornaments and decorate them using AA’s Minx Shimmering Inks and Dimensional paints. dsc08684

My Christmas tree in my kitchen is decorated with all things from the kitchen, so I knew these ornaments would be perfect for the tree. Super easy, last for a life time and you won’t gain any extra holiday weight from them… (lol… their non-edible).

Using very simple ingredients that we all have in our kitchen and with help from Art Anthology’s wonderful products, these ornaments turn out really cute.
