Playing with Minx shimmering inks – no 3 !

Hi you, Art Anthology fans… Ellie Knol here today!

It’s good to be back after being to South Africa for a month…it wasn’t a holiday actually, but to bury my dear mom who passed away last month. I had nearly 2 weeks to sit with her and say goodbye. We were actually going to celebrate her 90 th birthday on the 19th, but she passed away 2 weeks before that. She had a fulfilled life… that’s for sure.

AS PROMISED… I am not finished playing with the MINX inks yet!

Today I chose to play with MINX inks in combination with a custom made ink pad. That’s really so much fun.. you MUST give it a try!

Please have a look at the Snapguide at the end of this post for step-by-steps of the 2 techniques in this post.

Technique ONE is using the inks on the pad for stamping.

Changing the above card with just a touch of 2 stencils.

Technique TWO is finishing up all that beautiful ink on your pad.

Using these backgrounds for one-of-a-kind cards.

Playing with Minx shimmering inks!

Hi, Ellie Knol again, and you may have noticed that the Design Team of Art Anthology is featuring the Minx shimmering inks lately.

So, I will be featuring them today as well.
They are great to make backgrounds for cards or maybe for an art journal page (or a canvas, or a watercolor painting etc etc).
For now : 4 different ways to use the inks.
.. .. I hope to do some more in near future!

I’ve used the same colors for all 4 techniques.

For step-by-steps of all 4 techniques,
please see the Snapguide at the end of this post!

Minx and Masks: Creating Backgrounds

Hi creative peeps! Kathy here today to show you a technique that I learned from an online class, Inspiration Wednesday, with Donna Downey.  In the class, she used watercolors with masks. I thought the technique would be perfect for using Minx Shimmering Inks and some of the cool masks available from Art Anthology.

Mixed Media Cards2

I used 11″ x 14″ sturdy mixed media paper to create a background, then cut it into cards and used Melissa Frances wood veneer and resin embellishments to finish them off.  Many of us don’t send cards through the mail anymore, but I’ve found that people still really love and appreciate receiving them. And it is a great way to share your art with loved ones and friends.
