Happy Holidays

Every December I try to create one special thing for either the house or the tree that is festive for the holidays.  One year, I made our angel tree topper, another a shadow box of my grandchildren in their Santa hats.  This year, with the help of Art Anthology and Stampendous, I created a pretty little wreath ornament for our tree.

Using the Creative Palette by Stupendous, I sprayed Corlorations in Salted Carmel, Guacamole, Grass and the new Gold onto the palette.  I used a brayer to blend them.  I pressed canvas paper onto the mixture and shiny paper as well to get two distinct surfaces.

As I was cleaning up with textured paper towels, I found I really liked the colors that I was seeing so I used the towels as well.  I let all 3 surfaces dry completely before my next step.

I took the angel wings stamp by Stampendous (LOVE it) and stamped all 3 surfaces at least ten times.  I really like how the stamp set came with its own base.

The images stamped onto the paper towel feel and look like velvet which gave my project a whole new dimension and added more texture.

Next I cut a 3 inch circle out of heavy chipboard, cut out the center and painted both front and back with Art Anthology’s Sorbet in Chocolate .  This became the base for my wreath.  I love how this color just has the right touch of sparkly goodness.

Next I cut out the wings from the canvas, shiny paper and textured paper towels and cut them in half.  I began over lapping them, alternating as I went.  I used Beacon’s 3 in 1 Adhesive with just a dab on the base of each wing.

I entwined thin ribbon as I went.

I hung the wreath in the tree near lights so all the sparkle would show best.

This ornament could be used for a package topper as well and the size is easily adjustable.  Just cut more or less angel wings and make the base larger or smaller.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday, this is Jules.

Wow! This is amazing! What a wonderful tradition and this ornament is a complete success. Love all the ways you used the tools and even the clean up towels made it into the finished piece. Thank you for sharing!
