‘Tis the Season

Jules here welcoming you to Day 1 of the Art Anthology/Stampendous Blog Hop.  This week, we are partnering with each other to offer you tons of inspiration using products from Art Anthology and Stampendous.  Make sure you check back through the day as there will be several projects posted each day.

For most of us, December marks the time to celebrate with friends and family through out the month.  Parties and get togethers abound.  We usually take a nice bottle of wine to give as a hostess gift.  Lots of wine bags are available for purchase but I like to make mine a bit more personal.  Using products from Art Anthology, Stampendous and 1/4 of a yard of gauzy gold fabric, I was able to do just that.

I placed dabs of Art Anthology’s .Velvet Dimensional Paint in Basil and Mardi Gras on the wonderful Creative Palette by Stampendous and brayered them.  I used a textured brayer to give more dimension to the colors when I placed the gold fabric on to the paint.

While the fabric was drying, I misted the paint remaining on the Creative Palette with the new Gold Colorations Spray.  I took a piece of adhesive backed canvas paper and placed it canvas side down onto the paint.  I brayered it , moving sections onto the side of the Creative Palette to create lines for added interest.

I stamped the canvas paper with the Jumbo Cling Rubber Grapes stamp from Stampendous.  LOVE these stamps.

I used Art Anthology Sorbet Paints in Imperial, Chocolate , Basil and Metal Effects in Gold to add additional color and dimension to the stamped grapes, leaves and stems.

I cut these stamped images out, peeled off the adhesive backing and arranged them onto one of the pieces of the painted fabric I had precut to fit a wine bottle.

Next, I added two sided fabric tape to one of the precut pieces, matched up the sides (painted stamped image facing in).  I pressed the sides together and turned the bag inside out.

All I have to do is add a bottle of wine and a pretty ribbon and we are ready for the holiday celebrations to begin.

What a great way to enhance a present. Adding more interest to the bag and personalizing it makes it that much more special to the recipient.
