Spring Fling Scrapbook Page by Margie Higuchi
First of all, I LOVED creating with Art Anthology products! The colors and effects enhanced my project to a whole new level in creativity…who doesn’t love sparkle and dimension…and of course, colors?!
First I wanted to try painting on die cuts. I die cut tissue paper with Spellbinders™ Blossom Five dies and then painted them with Cotton Candy Velvet Paint, Vegas Gold and Imperial Sorbet Paints. After they dried, I layered them to create colorful blossoms.
Knowing that these products are dimensional, I wanted to find out how they would do if I painted them on my non-stick craft sheet. So I used Cotton Candy Velvet Paint and Honolulu Blue Sorbet Paint. I did about three coats with drying time between. What great results! They dried to what is similar to vinyl sheets but with wonderful color and sparkle! I cut/embossed with Spellbinders Shapeabilities® Cherry Blossoms and Media Mixàge™ Shields One dies.
This is the close up on how I used the finished products in my scrapbook page with the tissue paper blossoms and die cuts…
I painted leaves with June Bud Sorbet Paint on my non-stick craft sheet and let dry. These turned out perfectly and were added to my blossoms.
On the Spellbinders Media Mixàge Butterflies One blank, I first textured it with Media Mixàge™ Grate Works Three Texture Plate, painted Honolulu Blue Sorbet Paint and sanded lightly.
I stenciled through Spellbinders Botanical Swirl and Accents corner die with June Bud Sorbet Paint. I love how it gave dimension and interest on the corners of my page. For my background paper, I stenciled with Gesso and The Crafters’ Workshop Fragmented Flower stencil. Then added Cotton Candy Velvet Paint over the dried Gesso design and it anchored my embellished cluster.
