I started this canvas by rolling on a mixture of Velvet Dimensional Paint in Basil and Sorbet Dimensional Paint in Frost. I used a small paint roller for the application.
While the paint on the canvas was drying, I mixed Sorbet Dimensional Paints in Big Dip O’Ruby and Chocolate. I used one of the wonderful new Art Anthology stencils, Bubbles, and applied the paint mixture over the stencil on two opposing corners of the canvas.
While the paint was drying, I cut flower, butterflies and leaves out of a piece of upholstery fabric and sprayed these with Beacon’s Stiffen Stuff spray. As these pieces dried, I shaped them. Once I had them shaped, I used my heat gun to speed up the process.
I painted these with Velvet Dimensional Paints in Limeaid and Basil and Sorbet Dimensional Paints in Vegas Gold and Big Dip 0’Ruby to give the cut pieces that special sparkle and texture only these paints can add.
I used Beacon’s 3 in 1 liquid glue to attach the edges of the pieces to the canvas. I love the dimension that the stiffened fabric pieces gives to this.
I added the quote, “She never thought she would ever fly again BUT look at her now” as a tribute to my dear friends, Diane, Kellee and Marcia who are my heroines for their bravery in their battle against breast cancer.
