“Smile” Stenciled Watercolor Scrapbook Layout

Hey everyone!  Suzanne here today to share with you a layout that I’ve created using one of my favorite Art Anthology Stencils and Colorations Sprays!  I love the versatility of these sprays, and and am not ashamed to say that I make a way for them to appear in each of my projects!

I’m a huge fan of keeping layouts simple, but also being able to add visual interest at the same time.  That’s not really hard to achieve with the cool stencils and paints that Art Anthology has to offer!

This layout began with white cardstock that’s been primed with gesso and left to dry; I primed the page because I wanted to work the spray with a paintbrush and a little water instead of letting it immediately absorb into the paper.

Using Colorations Spray in “Salmon,” I first apply color with a paintbrush and water-lifting the paper occasionally and letting it run in certain areas.  I dried the spray with a heat tool and repeated the process until I was happy with coverage.

After the spray has dried completely, I applied texture to the background using the Morse Code Stencil and modeling paste.

This gives the color a little pop and definitely adds dimension to the background!

While the paste dried, I used paint from our Rust Texture Set in “Amber” to coat a chipboard flower.  All that’s left to do is to assemble the remainder of the layout!

Here are some close-ups of the finished layout!
