I’m Dreaming Of Diorama’s by Toni

Hi i everyone, Toni here with some festive inspiration. Christmas is right around the corner and I’m sure your holiday decorating is in full swing. I purchased these little boxes at Michaels after Halloween, they were 80 % off so I got them for $2.00, I decided they would be perfect little diorama’s  for my Christmas tree this year.  The boxes started off looking like this…. And were transformed to these, hope you enjoy !These boxes lend for endless possibilities for your imagination. Ornaments or raw wood pieces were added as the main focal interest in the boxes. This post is photo heavy because once I got started making these it was hard to stop. The next one, I used our Clear Coat in Dazzle to collage the music paper for background. Adhered the wings, added my bow and greenery. The Wood title was painted first with Sorbet Vegas Gold and then embossed with Gold powder.Mud Texture Paste was added to this snowflake wood piece and then sprinkled with glitter. The box was primed with black gesso and then dry brushed with Ferrari Red paint and a bit of white gesso on the top. This box was painted black and then dry brushed with Parakeet , Ferrari and highlighted with Vegas Gold. My next box was actually inspired by Emma Williams   she had created a brilliant tag using paperdolls in a Christmas scene and she included the watch in her project which I loved. The Christmas tree on my project was bleached out  to make it white and then decorated pearls painted with Ferrari Red and Parrakeet. My next diorama I used an ornament that I already had ….this sled. The outside of the box you can’t see but I embossed metal tape for the outside to enhance the metal on the sled.  Now the Mud Paste does create great snow but I needed a lot so I didn’t want to use up all my paste so decided to make my own faux snow. Check out my snapguide tutorial below to find out how to make this with AA products.    Last but not least is my sleigh I added some small bells that I rusted with our new rust paint set, added some foliage and also a little tree that had been bleached out as well. The outside of box was painted first then decorated with burlap.

Wishing you a Christmas season that is merry and  bright, grab yourself a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the Snapguide tutorial below which includes my recipe for faux snow as well as bleaching the Christmas trees.
