Hello! canvas created by Daniëlle

Hi!

Daniëlle here to show you a canvas I created with my art anthology products!

I started with lots of texture by using stencils and modeling paste (for example Art Anthology mud) which I then sprayed with my colorations sprays.\

I looked for some chipboard pieces and colored them with the same sprays and my metal effects, sorbet and velvet mediums.

Take a photograph, add all the pieces to your canvas, add some pretty embellishments and you’re all ready to go!

List of products I used:

Stencils: Scales, Fragments, Keyhole, Lotus.

Colorations: Clover, Timeless, Sedona, Raider.

Velvet: Lagoon

Sorbet: Vegas Gold

Metal effects: Bronze

Rusty leaves layout by Valerie

Hello there !

I have a Fall layout to show you today. I know, we are in February, but between Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year and soon to be Valentine’s day, I didn’t have the chance to scrap this Fall picture I like. So here it is, and thanks to that, I did use my rust texture set !

Beside the rust set, I also use the Diamond Grunge stencil with Leaf Sorbet on both sides of the paper. Bonus : the pattern matches the leaves !

To create this rusty effect, you will apply first the rust truffle, then touches of Terracotta, and a hint of Rust Amber for the finish.

On these two pictures, one leaf is painted, the other is a altered metal leaf…

Look how the Leaf Sorbet really pop and shine on this layout !

If you want to see how I make the leaves, you can watch the complete tutorial here or on the AA YouTube channel :

Altered Containers for Craft Supplies by Toni

Hi everyone, Toni here with some organization inspiration. I love my craft supplies to be organized and I so enjoy altering the containers that I place my supplies in. It serves at a couple purposes…. it helps in storage of my trinkets as well as it’s a piece of art to inspire me in my craft room. I had this empty plastic peanut container that was a nice size and new I could use it to put all my seashells in, so I decided to alter it using my Art Anthology texture pastes as well as Minx Shimmering Inks. I  took fishnet and saturated it in sculpture medium and wrapped it around my container and allowed it to dry then removed it and gave it a nice coat of white gesso. I wanted to be able to see the sea shells inside the container, that is the reason I prepped the fishnet in this manner. Once the gesso has dried attach the net to the container using 3D matt gel and hot glue and then start decorating with shells, starfish, silver dollars, pieces of coral etc. Using a combination of my Minx Shimmering Inks and our Patina Texture Set, I was able to achieve this pretty mossy under the sea texture. I also added art stones in assorted sizes for some added interest and texture.  The thing I love about mixed media is it’s all about the layers and textures. The more you add the better your project gets.  The title on my container is a T!m Holtz Chipboard Quote and I also added colors from our Minx to enhance it. The lid was altered using a small metal light house surrounded by shells, fishnet, starfish etc. and then prepped with white gesso and our AA beautiful products were added for color. Hoping this inspired you to grab some of your containers and give them a face lift.  Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook  HERE so you can also inspire all of us with your beautiful creations.

Below is a list of AA products used on my container:

Minx Shimmering Inks – Midnight, Bankroll, Decadent, Panache

Patina Texture Set

Mardi Gras mask by Valerie

Hello !

Valerie here today to show you a project for an Holiday you maybe are not familiar with, Mardi Gras ! Fat Tuesday is an old Middle Age tradition where peasants disguised themselves, feasted and burned a effigy of the king. It was something tolerate by the church to replace the older pagan custom for Spring. So, I will just stay with the disguise today with an altered mask !

Not far from where I live is the beautiful town of New Orleans, where Mardi Gras is a real deal Holiday ! The official colors for this are green and purple, so I choose the Mardi Gras Velvet and Emerald Dimensional Gemstones mediums for my project.

Between black gesso and those mediums, I  applied Dazzle Clear Coat to add some sparkle. Then I use Emerald Dimensional Gemstones medium and Mardi Gras Velvet medium.

And don’t forget a touch of gold with the Gold Metal Effect medium !

Can you see the little flakes of gold from the Dazzle ? And the Gold Metal Effect looks like gold powder !

I did a video tutorial for you to see the whole process. You can watch it here or on the Art Anthology YouTube channel :

Thanks you for stopping by today ! I hope you enjoy seeing this project as much as I enjoyed create it ! See you soon for another project…
