“Wonderful” – A Mini Mixed Media Piece by Jenn DuBell

Hello Art Anthology Fans! Jenn here today sharing a fun little piece of mixed media art with you!

This project was inspired by recent YouTube videos I watched. It actually started out as a very small approximately 4″ slice of wood.

I have used the following products available at Art Anthology:
Colorations Sprays – Peacock Feathers, Siesta Key
Texture sets in Rust and Patina
Minx Shimmering Ink – Gold Dust
Stencil – Off The Grid Stack

To create this I first coated the entire piece with a heavy white gesso to prime it. Once that was dry, I added some texture paste through the stencil and let that dry.

Next, once all of the texture was dry I added some stamping with black archival ink. I also added some swipes of crackle paste here and there and allowed that to dry. Starting with Colorations in Peacock feathers I added color to the piece.

Next a bit of the Siesta Key colorations, folowed by watered down hints of the Teal from the Patina Texture set. Once those were dried with my heat tool I added Minx gold dust and touches of watered down Amber from the Rust Texture set.

Finally I added all of my embellishments and some art stones for texture.

The photo below shows how small this piece actually is…

Christmas Card inspiration with Daniëlle

Hi guys!

How are you doing? I have a quick inspirational post for you today. Every year I create some Christmas cards and this year I used an Art Anthology background for them.

I created the background using three colorations sprays colors, Minx inks and Fairy Dust with a stencil. As you can see I also added some background stamping, a different text for each card. I also added a layer of clear coat sterling through a stencil. Add a cute image and text and your cards are ready! I like my Christmas cards all shiny and sparkly so I use lots of Minx, Fairy Dust and clear coat. I also use pearlescent cardstock but that’s quite hard to photograph.

I hope to inspire you to create a quick little Christmas card yourself!

See you again soon!

Season’s Greeting Card by Farrel Tailor

Hi there AA fans, I am back with another project share and today I decided to create a Christmas card. I have to admit I am not a card maker but I had so much fun creating this one that I may have to create some more.

Season's Greetings Card by Farrel Tailor
  1. To start my card I used an old music sheet from my stash and sprayed all over using Colorations Spray – Warm. Once dry, I then tore to fit my card.

2. I inked the edges of my music sheet with Vintage Photo archival Ink and then stenciled the whole area of the sheet using AA’s Clear Coat Dimensional Medium – Splashed and Art Deco stencil.

Splashed Sorbet Dimensional Paint

3. Next I painted my Green Tara large Poinsetta flower with Gold Metal Effects medium using a paint brush. I applied 2 coats of this for complete coverage.

4. Next I used a paint brush to paint my chipboard flourishes using Minx Shimmering Ink. Make sure you give this a good shake to make sure all the shimmering goodness is throughout the ink.

5. Then all there is needs to be done is adhere everything to the card and I found some Christmas stamps in my stash which I used on some white card stock and used Vintage Photo archival Ink. The backing of the sentiment I used some glitter paper and adhere a piece of ribbon from my stash also.

Paradise Found Mixed Media Layout by Farrel Tailor

Hi there AA fans, Farrel here today to share my newest project. I used a mixture of Colorations Sprays, Minx Shimmering Inks, Velvet Dimensional Paint and stencils. I also have a process video which will be located at the end of the blog. So sit back, relax and let me show you how I created my layout xx.

  1. To begin with I applied a thin coat of clear gesso to my patterned paper. Why do I do this you may ask? It is to seal the paper so that I can add my mediums to the paper without it buckling. Once dry I then using AA’s stencil Keyhole and Velvet Dimensional Paint – Brownie.

2. After drying the stenciled area with my heat tool, I then applied some clear crackle medium and dried again. I then sprayed the crackled area with water and using a paint brush I applied Siesta Key and Granny Smith Colorations Sprays.

3. I sprayed my flowers with water and then sprayed Colorations Spray – Sandcastle. I used my heat tool to dry the flowers.

4. I painted the flowers with Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent using a paint brush. I also painted my chipboard title with the same ink.

5. I then adhered all my pieces to the layout along with mini prillz and art stones. And finished the layout off with some stamping.

I used these products on my project:

Stencil – Keyhole

Colorations Sprays – Siesta Key, Granny Smith, Sandcastle

Minx Shimmering Ink – Decadent

Velvet Dimensional Paint – Brownie
