Hi fans! Brandy here to share a canvas I created using our beautiful Color Challenge Board!
I hope you decide to play along with us! AND if you do, stop by our Facebook group page Art Anthology Adventures in Art and share it with us! 🙂

For awesome texture, this time I used the Fragments and Lotus Stencils and my Art Anthology Mud.
I chose the always gorgeous Sky Colorations spray to start the color for my canvas. I love how this spray gets a little darker with each layer you add…giving you the perfect opportunity to get just what shade you want!

My Desire Velvet Medium added just the right amount of festive color.  To make it all shine, I added a coat of Splashed Clear Coat for some pretty sparkle.

Beautiful Art Canvas w/ Brandy

Hi, Fans!! Brandy here with a quick share of a project!

After being inspired by a friend, I thought I’d try using an old paintbrush as the focal point of an art canvas! I kinda love how this brush was used a time or two by myself, then returned to a beautiful piece of art afterward! Just some twine, a coat of gesso, some crackle paste and some of my SKY Colorations spray. 🙂

Of course, the paintbrush wouldn’t look as good as it does without a gorgeous background made up of a few more Art Anthology goodness! I started by adding texture with some Mud and my Lotus and Blocked stencils. Next, I adorned them with Colorations Sprays in Sky, Warm, and Steel.

The metal butterfly helped me choose a few rust colored accents for adorning.

In, the end I found a spectacular title sticker that suited this old brush perfectly.
“She was herself again”.

Winter Home Decor Project W/ Brandy

Happy December Art Anthology Fans!!

Brandy here to share an adorable piece, perfect for the coming winter.
I had an old metal embroidery hoop in my stash and have been dying to use this image of the a little winter fairy guy…this is what I came up with!

I gave the background paper more interest by adding some Seafoam Velvet Medium and Sandstone Stone effects with my Lotus and Dot Matrix stencils!

Those yummy aged looking clumps around the edge of the hoop are from alternating Seafoam Velvet Medium and a rust colored embossing powder. Worked perfect! 🙂

I love how the piece turned out. I also love how just adding a few Art Anthology products to your project can make it phenomenal!

Here’s a tutorial on how it came together 🙂

Altering a Cigar Box W/ Brandy

Happy November, Art Anthology fans! I’m here to share an altered cigar box I made, and some of the trials and tribulations I incurred as well!!
Okay, we are still talking about doing art here, but if this post proves anything, it’s that you can probably fix most of your crafty boo-boos and learn a lot along the way. 🙂

I’m still learning new things every time I pick up spray bottle or paint brush, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s what is so great about Art Anthology Paints and mediums and sprays…there’s a style, color and technique for everyone to love!

After laying on an awesome layer of Peacock Feathers and Sandcastle Sprays, I needed some  gray to match the papers I would be embellishing my box with. I went with my Sterling Fairy Dust Spray….and added  WAY TO MUCH! Even though it washed a lot of my colors away, and it was still absolutely gorgeous,  it just didn’t give me the effect I was looking for! 🙁

I got my sprays back out, reapplied them… I choose to blend the colors by dry brushing some gesso over them and then making a few choice sprays of my Steel Colorations spray instead. I loved it!!

In case you liked the way my project was going the first time, I have added all the products used. The Snapguide will let you know what was used when.

Peacock Feathers Colorations Spray
Sandcastle Colorations Spray
Cayman Sorbet Dimensional Paint
Sterling Fairy Dust Spray
Steel Colorations Spray
Chevron STencil

I hope this inspires you to get your crafty on. Maybe even dig out the project you gave up on a couple weeks ago! 🙂

Breast Cancer Awareness Month W/ Brandy

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I’d stop by and share a little PINK project I made.

I started with a small wooden banner piece from my stash and gave it a coat of gesso. Next, I used some texture paste and my Diamond Grunge Stencil to add texture.
Alternating Sprays of Barbie Colorations spray and water, I got the soft pink color. I chose a few spots to add some of my Warm Colorations Spray to give it that “been around for a while” look. I also used my finger to brush on a little color to the white gesso painted hanger and sayings.
Finally, I added a couple little drips of my Indulgence Shimmering Minx Ink. It adds just the perfect touch of sparkle. 🙂
Pile on some coordinating flowers and embellishments, if your like me, and it’s complete!

Some of best help with this cancer fight is breast health knowledge! Assessing your personal risk and knowing what the signs and symptoms are can help tremendously in early detection.
