Canvas “Awesome” by Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s my turn again to inspire You with Art Atnology based project.  This time I created a boyish canvas with my cute nephew.

DSC_1700 DSC_1704

I played with my favourite colors to create background. I used some dimmensional paints like Velvets and Sorbets and I added a lot of water to use them like a watercolors.

I love how versatile those paints are. I can create textures with them, paint like a painter, color with them and use them with stencils.

I added few boyish embellishments and project was ready in less than an hour (not counting drying all the layers and media).

Really fun and simple project to do and my sister will be happy to have (another) picture of her son framed 😀

There is also a video tutorial, as always. I hope You will enjoy watching it.

This post is also a little bit sad because it’s my last post for Art Anthology. It was wonderful six months packed with amazing products, talented team and great boss. Thank You Stayce for having me in this team. My adventure with Art Anthology DT is coming to an end but it’s definetelly not the end of my adventure with Art Anthology great products.

Thank You for stopping by and I hope we will meet somewhere on line from time to time.

Love rules here by Anna Komenda

Hello Art Anthology fans. It’s Anna here today. I would like to show You a pendant created for my daughter’s room. She is only seven right now but she starts to have her own opinions about everything. She also usually disagree with the sentence that I rule the house 😀 Because I do, right?

That’s why I created this pendant with inscription “Love rules here”. Because it’s the most important thing to remember everyday – that all I do, even if she don’t like it, I do because I love her very much. And I really hope that everytime when she will feel angry of me, she will look at this sign and cheer up a little.

I used a variety of AA products on this pendant – paints and mists. I also added few Melissa Frances wooden elements.

I really like the combination of turquise and purple and I highlighted it by adding butterflies in this colors.

I have a video for You with my creative process.

Thank You for stopping by and see You soon.

Create canvas

Hello, today I would like to show you my canvas CREATE.

I needed a little bit of fresh and juicy colors, so I created this canvas for myself with Limeaid and Mayan Gold. Of course with a touch of some purple – with Imperial and Wild Orchid.

And some close up’s:

The background was created with Squared Stencil, Limeaid and Mayan Gold. All painted on black gesso.

The chipboard from Melissa Frances was painted of white gesso, and some smooth touch of velvets.

I used some of Flea Market Finds from Melissa Frances.

Minx and Masks: Creating Backgrounds

Hi creative peeps! Kathy here today to show you a technique that I learned from an online class, Inspiration Wednesday, with Donna Downey.  In the class, she used watercolors with masks. I thought the technique would be perfect for using Minx Shimmering Inks and some of the cool masks available from Art Anthology.

Mixed Media Cards2

I used 11″ x 14″ sturdy mixed media paper to create a background, then cut it into cards and used Melissa Frances wood veneer and resin embellishments to finish them off.  Many of us don’t send cards through the mail anymore, but I’ve found that people still really love and appreciate receiving them. And it is a great way to share your art with loved ones and friends.

Canvas “You and me” by Anna Komenda

Hello Art Anthology fans. It’s Anna here with my newest project created with AA goodies.

I like creating canvas. They can be easily displayed around the house. You can also add more dimensional embellishments as You don’t have to worry if it will all fit into the pocket of the album. And it’s really easy to work on the surface that is already covered with the protective base like gesso.

I usually make colorful projects but I had this picture of me and my husband on our wedding day and I wanted to create something more romantic.

DSC_8841 DSC_8848

I wanted to play with shades of mint, pink and gold with a light vintage touch.

I used beautiful wood veneers from Melissa Frances to create a background. Clock faces vere just perfect to highlight the age of the photo. It was taken more than nine years ago but I feel like it was a blink of an eye from present day.

DSC_8826 DSC_8830

My composition is quite simple. I also didn’t want to cover everything with a thick amount of medias. I just wanted to achieve this airy, light look with a shimmer of colors.

You can watch whole process on the video below.

I hope You will enjoy watching it. Thank You for stopping by and don’t forget to share Your projects with Art Anthology mediums on our FB Group Art Anthology Adventures in art.

XO Anna
