Happy Journal

Hello Art Anthology Friends and Fans! Jenn here today and I am going to share with you how I created my happy journal cover using Art Anthology products.

For starters, this project is the result of two projects that were both lost. By lost I mean not looking the way I had planned. I was cleaning my studio and found these and said maybe rather than trashing them?…and this is what I did!

Please see my Snapguide link below for instructions and full supply list.

Art Anthology Products Used:

Colorations Sprays – Avocado, Warm

Rust set (Amber)

Bubbles Stencil

Minx Shimmering Inks –  Panache, Bankroll

Fairy Dust Spray – Ice

This is where it all began. A journal cover I had started to alter and pieces removed from a small canvas I was unhappy with.

A closer look….

Mixed media canvas about Maths…

Happy New Year from Valerie !

There is no reason to create less than in 2017, right ? I hope you start this new year with alot of projects in mind, and I hope I will help you in your creativity with my new project inspired by the January moodboard…

That was a lot of work but I am so pleased with the result ! I wanted to create a canvas to celebrate Maths and found a quote from Albert Einstein : “Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.” I had my title !

I used three different stencils, two from the Off the Grid stack, and the Blocked stencil. You will also find some Mud texture paste and Plush Colorations spray.

And I did play with Velvet and Sorbet mediums : Orchid, Mayan gold, Purple Rain, Mardi Gras and Dragon Fruit.

Maths are so important in the progress of the human kind… In fact, they are present everywhere, especially in art ! I think this piece could be a perfect gift for a Maths teatcher… Never too early to think about end-of-the-school-year gift or even a dad’s day gift ?

You can watch my video tutorial to see my creative process right here :

And if you need another push to creativity, here is the moodboard to help you start with colors…

Once again happy new year, and see you soon for another mixed media project…

Holiday Mixed Media Canvas with Brandy

Hi fans! Brandy here to share a canvas I created using our beautiful Color Challenge Board!
I hope you decide to play along with us! AND if you do, stop by our Facebook group page Art Anthology Adventures in Art and share it with us! 🙂

For awesome texture, this time I used the Fragments and Lotus Stencils and my Art Anthology Mud.
I chose the always gorgeous Sky Colorations spray to start the color for my canvas. I love how this spray gets a little darker with each layer you add…giving you the perfect opportunity to get just what shade you want!

My Desire Velvet Medium added just the right amount of festive color.  To make it all shine, I added a coat of Splashed Clear Coat for some pretty sparkle.

Here’s a video tutorial so you can see how to make your own!

Fun Altered Fall Paintbrush

Hi Art Anthology Fans!! Today I am going to show you what I created using inspiration from our November moodboard! This Fun Altered Fall Paintbrush!

How did I create this? Read on for more……….

In addition to the amazing Art Anthology colors featured on the mood board, Limeaid Velvet, Bronze Metal EffectsDecadent Minx, Gold Dust Minx, and Radiance Minx, I also added some Red Velvet Sorbet and Bankroll Minx. As you can see all of these colors work very well together to create a great Fall palette! By adding the Minx Shimmering Inks in coordinating colors you will achieve a glittery and glossy finish to your project.

Here are a few pictures close up to show detail. After these please click on the snapguide for a full tutorial!

Welcome Fall

Welcome Fall

Hey there, Michelle here with another project today. After a particularly super busy month, I am looking forward to fall bringing cooler temperatures and that time of year that makes some of us slow down, so although Welcome is seen as just a mere greeting to some, it truly is a “Welcome” sight to some of us in many ways, so I hope you enjoy this cute little plaque display using two of my favorite Art Anthology colors!

Just take in that Art Anthology Gemstones Amber, the warmth it exudes just pulls these colors together

Art Anthology Colorations Sprays Sedona and Timeless were meant to be together, adding the sprays in layers allowed me to control how ‘aged’ I wanted them to look, so have fun with it, play around with them by adding and layering your gesso and sprays, I used flowers from the dollar store for some of them, so try different ones out and see how the sprays change each of them.

Check out How to Welcome Fall by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

I hope you enjoyed this project and give it a try, until next time take care and thank you for joining me!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month W/ Brandy

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I’d stop by and share a little PINK project I made.

I started with a small wooden banner piece from my stash and gave it a coat of gesso. Next, I used some texture paste and my Diamond Grunge Stencil to add texture.
Alternating Sprays of Barbie Colorations spray and water, I got the soft pink color. I chose a few spots to add some of my Warm Colorations Spray to give it that “been around for a while” look. I also used my finger to brush on a little color to the white gesso painted hanger and sayings.
Finally, I added a couple little drips of my Indulgence Shimmering Minx Ink. It adds just the perfect touch of sparkle. 🙂
Pile on some coordinating flowers and embellishments, if your like me, and it’s complete!

Some of best help with this cancer fight is breast health knowledge! Assessing your personal risk and knowing what the signs and symptoms are can help tremendously in early detection.

Talk to your doctor and keep up with your self checks!

How to Give a Book a New Life as Bookbox !!

Ellie Knol here again, yes, sadly for the last time now, as I step down from the design team after being here for a year..

…but don’t be sad, there are very talented new design team members already here now!

Thanks Stayce for having me, I really had fun working (playing) with your beautiful product! They will stay in my stash and I am sure I will USE them!

This time I chose to alter a book into a bookbox. It was a looooooot of work!

I gave myself some homework: and I must say: mission accomplished…

I wanted to know whether I like to work on a white or black surface better?! I still don’t know the answer.. I like them both.

I chose to use the colors from the current moodboard:
For a step-by-step of the process: SNAPGUIDE!!
