Playing with Minx shimmering inks – no 3 !

Hi you, Art Anthology fans… Ellie Knol here today!

It’s good to be back after being to South Africa for a month…it wasn’t a holiday actually, but to bury my dear mom who passed away last month. I had nearly 2 weeks to sit with her and say goodbye. We were actually going to celebrate her 90 th birthday on the 19th, but she passed away 2 weeks before that. She had a fulfilled life… that’s for sure.

****

AS PROMISED… I am not finished playing with the MINX inks yet!

Today I chose to play with MINX inks in combination with a custom made ink pad. That’s really so much fun.. you MUST give it a try!

Please have a look at the Snapguide at the end of this post for step-by-steps of the 2 techniques in this post.

Technique ONE is using the inks on the pad for stamping.

Changing the above card with just a touch of 2 stencils.

******

Technique TWO is finishing up all that beautiful ink on your pad.

Using these backgrounds for one-of-a-kind cards.

Make your own rust effects with Art Anthology!

Hello Art Anthology Fans!! Dream Team member Brandy here today to share my project inspired by our moodboard over on the Facebook group page, Art Anthology Adventures in Art!
This month’s board features some awesome rusty objects! If you haven’t played along yet, what are you waiting for!? 🙂

I’ve heard of other companies having mediums that look like rust, so naturally I had to see if we could make our own with Art Anthology products! Turns out, I only had to add one ingredient to some paint……and it was sand!

With a combination of “sandy” Kenyan Copper Sorbet and Radiance Minx Shimmering Ink I was able to come up with something that looks pretty darn close! 🙂

I made a Snapguide tutorial for this project!

Check out How to Make Rust Effects With Art Antholgy Products by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

Here’s a list of Art Anthology products used:
Tic Toc Stencil
Blocked Stencil
Dottie Stencil
Radiance Minx Shimmering ink
Panache Minx Shimmering ink
French Toast Spray
Waimea Bay Spray
Peacock Spray
Kenyan Copper Sorbet Paint
Vegas Gold Sorbet Paint

And don’t forget a little bit of sand! 😀

I’ve created a page to show that. I do need some practice with these faces though!

There is a tutorial at the end of this post, on Snapguide.

Colorations spray and glass?!

 Hi, Ellie Knol here today.. with a very FUN and easy project;
playing with Colorations! YES, on glass!!
Find out how in this post, and for a tutorial go see the Snapguide at the end of the post.
Here you can see the finished project as it looks during the day.
To begin with, I bought this as a whole on a flea market, with the glass being uncolored.
I used Colorations, deli paper, gesso and a stamp.
Doesn’t this look yummy?
Some detail of the colored paper (the backside) after it had dried.
With the lights and the candles both on.
With the lights out and the candles on.
Every photo I took gave some other detail of the beautiful colors, depending on the light around it, and whether the candles or on or not.

I’ve created a Snapguide tutorial for you, with a step-by-step of the creation of these candle holders with the beautiful Colorations (inkspray) from Art Anthology.

I hope you will give this a try…

Just playing – on an art journal page

I played, yes .. and I had fun..!!

Ellie Knol here today…

I decided to just go with the flow… and see where that would take me. I grabbed all sorts of colors that I thought would be nice together, greens, blues, oranges and a red, velvets, sorbets and a gemstones.
art-anthology-artjournal-face-collage-ellie-knol-22

Here you can see the first 3 greens: Leaf Sorbet, Limited Velvet and Emerald Gemstones, scraping a tiny bit randomly over the page to make transparant layers.  Don’t try to cover the whole of it with each color, just here and there, and sometimes overlapping. After this step I’ve used lots more colors. For that, go see the Snapguide at the bottom of the post.
