Dragonfly canvas by Marleen.

Hi everybody , Marleen here with a canvas inspired by the new October moodboard! Sign up for the newsletter, you will  see a moodbaord there every month.

I was also inspired with something I saw on Facebook. Making molds from stamps and make you own embellishments from paperclay. That is so much fun!

So I took an old handcarved stamp and made a mold.

The rest you see in the Snapguide tutorial, I hope you get inspired!

September MoodBoard Challenge W/ Brandy

Hello Fans!  Brandy here again to share my Art Anthology Mood Board Challenge project!! Look at the Art Anthology Adventures page on Facebook for all the gorgeous colors and inspiring images each month brings!

I choose to use Lagoon Velvet, Mardi Gras Velvet, and Amber Gemstone Mediums! Boy, they are beautiful together!

One of the things I love most about AA paints is their thick, luscious consistancy! You can add a little water and they take on a whole new effect! Even then, you can still add this mix in layers to get the exact color and dimension.

Tattered Time by Toni

Oh happy day everyone, I’m up on the blog today with some inspiration using textiles with your Art Anthology paints and mixed media style. Gathering inspiration from this month’s mood board was not difficult.

Using an embroidery hoop, I sewed together muslin pieces as well as made ruffles with muslin.  I really wanted the look to be very raw and random…. hence the name “Tattered Time”. Textiles are really fun to use in your mixed media because  the fibers and threads absolutely add that something special to your piece.   Using AA’s Coffee Stain Stencil with Kona paint gave the muslin background a nice messy look. Drips and drizzles  of Colorations Sprays is all my background needed to bring out the pretty colors from our mood board.  The two colors used were Warm and Peacock Feathers which were also used to dye the tulle ruffle for the dress and tint the flowers in our ladies hair. Craft sand mixed in  with Kona, Kenyan Copper and Mint Julep provided the nice patina’d look to my clock face.

Random laces and trims hang from the side of the clock to bring the entire piece together. This will be fun to hang on my wall in my studio. Hope you are inspired to get out those scraps of materials that are stuffed in your drawer and create something spectacular with them.

The following are Art Anthology products that were used on my project.

Coffee Stain Stencil

Colorations Spray – Peacock Feathers, Warm

Sorbet – Kenyan Copper, Mint Julep, Black Leather Jacket

Velvet – Kona

Make your own rust effects with Art Anthology!

Hello Art Anthology Fans!! Dream Team member Brandy here today to share my project inspired by our moodboard over on the Facebook group page, Art Anthology Adventures in Art!
This month’s board features some awesome rusty objects! If you haven’t played along yet, what are you waiting for!? 🙂

I’ve heard of other companies having mediums that look like rust, so naturally I had to see if we could make our own with Art Anthology products! Turns out, I only had to add one ingredient to some paint……and it was sand!

With a combination of “sandy” Kenyan Copper Sorbet and Radiance Minx Shimmering Ink I was able to come up with something that looks pretty darn close! 🙂

I made a Snapguide tutorial for this project!

Check out How to Make Rust Effects With Art Antholgy Products by Art Anthology on Snapguide.
