Recycled ” Dream” wall decoration

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second April Art Anthology post.

This time I decided to show you how you can use your old and messy paint brushes and to make a lovely wall decoration using them with Art Anthology paints and a stencil.

As you can see the project base is made of 21 old paint brushes. My problem is that I never clean my brushes in a proper way. I do clean them here and there, but finally they are done and gone and the only thing you can make with them is an altered project.

Lucky me, I never buy the expensive brushes and those are all kind of a general $ store ones.

So then life gives you messy ” lemons” make a nice lemonade and in my case make a nice altered project.

Here you can see some close- ups to this project:

Blooming altered box

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Art Anthology post.

Spring is in the air and the best way to celebrate Spring is to make a bright and full of flowers project.

So this altered wooden box is my tribute to Spring and to everything new. Why is it everything new? As this is my very first time to make self made painted flowers and the very first time to use Foamiran to make those flowers.

I heard about this product that is actually the very thin foam. You can die cut it, paint it and then shrink it a bit with your heat gun to get those great, pretty much like real, flowers.

So for my very first attempt to use this foam I used Art Anthology paints and colorations to see if it works. And it worked just perfect.

Here are some close – ups to the flowers and then I made a tutorial to show you how you can make  the flowers and to embellish your $ store simple wooden box with these flowers.

Collect Beautiful Moments by Toni

Hi everyone, Toni here with a new project. It’s springtime here in the U.S. one of my favorite times of the year, so I decided to create a butterfly canvas.  It was time to bust out the Sculpture Medium. I’ve been wanting to play with this for some time. Once my cheesecloth was completely dry it was stiff as a board and took to Art Anthology’s mediums and spray beautifully.

I think this will be a pretty addition to my altered canvases in my studio. I also utilized my new Paper Clay Moulds and created some of my own embellishments to enhance my canvas.

Wishing you a beautiful springtime and hoping you “Collect Beautiful Moments” along the way.

For your enjoyment I have including a Snapguide tutorial below for my step x step process.

“Love Always” by Toni

Hi crafty peeps, Toni here with an altered picture frame. Now I purchased this frame at $1.00 store, and I can’t believe the transformation, it came out wonderful.

Using Art Anthology products once again brought my entire piece together quite easily. Using Mud Texture Paste and then applying a crackle medium over the top was the base of my project.

Once your paste has dried and has some amazing cracks, I brushed over the top with Black Leather Jacket Sorbet, allow to somewhat dry and then remove with baby wipes to provide an antiqued look.  The flowers were painted with assorted AA paints, topped them off with Metal Effects Gold.

My key was created from paper clay in a mould and aged to perfection with Mud texture paste and then topped with lots of rusty colors from AA’s paints. Gold wire was wrapped and then secured to frame. Hope this has given you new ideas for those inexpensive buys at the store. xoxo Toni

Just playing – on an art journal page

I played, yes .. and I had fun..!!

Ellie Knol here today…

I decided to just go with the flow… and see where that would take me. I grabbed all sorts of colors that I thought would be nice together, greens, blues, oranges and a red, velvets, sorbets and a gemstones.

Here you can see the first 3 greens: Leaf Sorbet, Limited Velvet and Emerald Gemstones, scraping a tiny bit randomly over the page to make transparant layers.  Don’t try to cover the whole of it with each color, just here and there, and sometimes overlapping. After this step I’ve used lots more colors. For that, go see the Snapguide at the bottom of the post.
