Welcome Fall

Welcome Fall

Hey there, Michelle here with another project today. After a particularly super busy month, I am looking forward to fall bringing cooler temperatures and that time of year that makes some of us slow down, so although Welcome is seen as just a mere greeting to some, it truly is a “Welcome” sight to some of us in many ways, so I hope you enjoy this cute little plaque display using two of my favorite Art Anthology colors!

Just take in that Art Anthology Gemstones Amber, the warmth it exudes just pulls these colors together

Art Anthology Colorations Sprays Sedona and Timeless were meant to be together, adding the sprays in layers allowed me to control how ‘aged’ I wanted them to look, so have fun with it, play around with them by adding and layering your gesso and sprays, I used flowers from the dollar store for some of them, so try different ones out and see how the sprays change each of them.

Check out How to Welcome Fall by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

I hope you enjoyed this project and give it a try, until next time take care and thank you for joining me!

How to Give a Book a New Life as Bookbox !!

Ellie Knol here again, yes, sadly for the last time now, as I step down from the design team after being here for a year..

…but don’t be sad, there are very talented new design team members already here now!

Thanks Stayce for having me, I really had fun working (playing) with your beautiful product! They will stay in my stash and I am sure I will USE them!

This time I chose to alter a book into a bookbox. It was a looooooot of work!

I gave myself some homework: and I must say: mission accomplished…

I wanted to know whether I like to work on a white or black surface better?! I still don’t know the answer.. I like them both.

I chose to use the colors from the current moodboard:
For a step-by-step of the process: SNAPGUIDE!!

September MoodBoard Challenge W/ Brandy

Hello Fans!  Brandy here again to share my Art Anthology Mood Board Challenge project!! Look at the Art Anthology Adventures page on Facebook for all the gorgeous colors and inspiring images each month brings!

I choose to use Lagoon Velvet, Mardi Gras Velvet, and Amber Gemstone Mediums! Boy, they are beautiful together!

One of the things I love most about AA paints is their thick, luscious consistancy! You can add a little water and they take on a whole new effect! Even then, you can still add this mix in layers to get the exact color and dimension.

Mermaid art journal with Art Anthology

Mermaid art journal with Josefine

Hi, Josefine is back with a new art journal page. This time I wanted to test how the Velvet paints react on a black surface. As you might know the Velvet paints are translucent so I was hoping for a fun effect and I was not disappointed.

Mermaid art journal with Art Anthology

My tutorial video shows exactly how I added the colors to the black background and what I did to create the ocean scene for the little mermaid.

I hope you enjoyed my art journal page and feel inspired to get your own paints out 🙂

Industrial ATC set with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Irit is here and today I am going to share my ATC cards trio made with new Art Anthology stencil and a lot of Art Anthology paints and mists.

This project was born as a ” stencil and paint” project. I loved the stencil and the new stone effect paint and just used them over three ATC blanks.

Then when it was dry I thought about the theme and the best one to add to concrete stone effect paint was something urban.

So I used skyline die and made layers of houses and then added stormy sky effects with different paint and mists.

You can take a look at each one of three ATC pieces here:

And as always I have a Snapguide tutorial for you to see and to use in a future:
Check out How to Make a Set of Industrial ATC by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

Here is a full list of products used to make this project:

Dazzle Sorbet

Wooden wall hanger

Wooden wall hanger with Josefine

Hi and welcome back!

Today I’m sharing a small project with you using a piece of birch wood and Art Anthology paints to create a wall hanger. Even though it’s a small piece of art, I had a lot of fun creating it!

I prepared a video tutorial for you, showing you how I created the image on the birch wood:

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial 🙂

Do you ever paint on wood? I love how the Art Anthology paints turn out! They have a very distinct sheen to them. It’s hard to explain, but I encourage you to give it a try and see for yourself 🙂

By The Sea – Lighthouse Frame

Hello creative friends, glad to be sharing another DT post. For today’s project I made a mixed media, somewhat altered lighthouse frame. I decided not to add a photo yet (needing one that’s just right), instead I removed the glass piece and replaced it with pattern paper and a wooden sentiment, I saved the glass piece for when I add the photo later.

I love playing with lots of texture, color and embellishments.  I used a combination of Art Anthology Colorations color sprays – Sandcastle, Warm, Waimea Bay and Peacock Feathers, Velvet Mediums – Kona, Fiji and Limeaid, Sorbet medium – Kenyan Copper, Gemstone medium – Amber and Stone Effects – Bone. Everything came together so nicely, it’s a great way to relax and have some fun.

Hope you feel inspired to create your own… you will find a step by step tutorial with a complete list of supplies posted below.

Enjoy…

Recycled ” Dream” wall decoration

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second April Art Anthology post.

This time I decided to show you how you can use your old and messy paint brushes and to make a lovely wall decoration using them with Art Anthology paints and a stencil.

As you can see the project base is made of 21 old paint brushes. My problem is that I never clean my brushes in a proper way. I do clean them here and there, but finally they are done and gone and the only thing you can make with them is an altered project.

Lucky me, I never buy the expensive brushes and those are all kind of a general $ store ones.

So then life gives you messy ” lemons” make a nice lemonade and in my case make a nice altered project.

Here you can see some close- ups to this project:

You can see the full step by step tutorial here on a Snapguide:

Check out How to Make Used Paint Brushes Wall Decoration by Art Anthology on Snapguide.

All products are listed in the Snapguide and I made a full Art Anthology products list here in this post too:

Sorbet- Black Leather Jacket,Vegas Gold,Pixie,Leaf, Frost, Dazzle

Velvet- Lagoon, Mardi Gras

Gemstones- Rhodolite

Stencil

Hope you like my project and see you soon again with a totally different Mixed Media creation.

Blooming altered box

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Art Anthology post.

Spring is in the air and the best way to celebrate Spring is to make a bright and full of flowers project.

So this altered wooden box is my tribute to Spring and to everything new. Why is it everything new? As this is my very first time to make self made painted flowers and the very first time to use Foamiran to make those flowers.

I heard about this product that is actually the very thin foam. You can die cut it, paint it and then shrink it a bit with your heat gun to get those great, pretty much like real, flowers.

So for my very first attempt to use this foam I used Art Anthology paints and colorations to see if it works. And it worked just perfect.

Here are some close – ups to the flowers and then I made a tutorial to show you how you can make  the flowers and to embellish your $ store simple wooden box with these flowers.

You can see the full step by step tutorial here on a Snapguide:

Check out How to Make Spring Flowers Altered Box by Art Anthology on Snapguide.
All products are listed in the Snapguide and I made a full Art Anthology products list here in this post too:

Velvet: Limeaid,Cotton Candy

Sorbet: Leaf,Dazzle,Red Velvet

Stone Effect-Brick

Gemstones- Rhodolite

Colorations– Glorious, Timeless,Barbie,Juicy,Wild Orchid, Patience

Hope you like my project and see you soon again with a totally different Mixed Media creation.
