Imagine… your bookmarks !

Hello there, it’s Valerie !

Back to papercrafts after few off-the-page projects ! This time I created for you few bookmarks, using Colorations sprays, mediums and stencil from the Art Anthology store :

The chevron pattern came from the Chevron stencil used with Lagoon Velvet medium. I just added few stamps and washi tapes to complete the design.

I obtain the background by spraying Siesta Key and Peacock Feathers. I added the washi tapes before stenciling, and then Stamped in black ink. The Gold Metal Effects higlight some of the stamped patterns. I also sprayed some Gilded Gold Fairy Dust to add some shine to the project.

Once again I used a white gel pen to give dimension to the stamps. You can see the entire process on video (here or on the Art Anthology channel) :

Thank you for stopping by today ! Hope to see you soon…

Altering a Cigar Box W/ Brandy

Happy November, Art Anthology fans! I’m here to share an altered cigar box I made, and some of the trials and tribulations I incurred as well!!
Okay, we are still talking about doing art here, but if this post proves anything, it’s that you can probably fix most of your crafty boo-boos and learn a lot along the way. 🙂

I’m still learning new things every time I pick up spray bottle or paint brush, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s what is so great about Art Anthology Paints and mediums and sprays…there’s a style, color and technique for everyone to love!

After laying on an awesome layer of Peacock Feathers and Sandcastle Sprays, I needed some  gray to match the papers I would be embellishing my box with. I went with my Sterling Fairy Dust Spray….and added  WAY TO MUCH! Even though it washed a lot of my colors away, and it was still absolutely gorgeous,  it just didn’t give me the effect I was looking for! 🙁

I got my sprays back out, reapplied them… I choose to blend the colors by dry brushing some gesso over them and then making a few choice sprays of my Steel Colorations spray instead. I loved it!!

In case you liked the way my project was going the first time, I have added all the products used. The Snapguide will let you know what was used when.

Peacock Feathers Colorations Spray
Sandcastle Colorations Spray
Cayman Sorbet Dimensional Paint
Sterling Fairy Dust Spray
Steel Colorations Spray
Chevron STencil

I hope this inspires you to get your crafty on. Maybe even dig out the project you gave up on a couple weeks ago! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!!

Altered sketchbook by Valerie

Hi everyone !

Another mixed media project (I do love creating them!) with an inexpansive sketchbook as base…

I made clay embellishments and use flowers, metal embellishments and buttons as well to adhere on the sketchbook before covering everything with black gesso.

When everything was dry, I re-colored the project with Vegas Gold and Wisteria Sorbet, and Rose Velvet, then added some Gilded Gold Fairy Dust and Plush Colorations spray.

The other additions to this project were cheesecloth and microbeads, as well as wood letters for the title.

If you like to learn more about the process of this project, take a loo at my video tutorial here or on the Art Anthology channel, where you can find other wonderful tutorials.

Thank for stopping by and for your time reviewing this project ! Have a wonderful week end filled with creativity !

I was also inspired with something I saw on Facebook. Making molds from stamps and make you own embellishments from paperclay. That is so much fun!

So I took an old handcarved stamp and made a mold.

The rest you see in the Snapguide tutorial, I hope you get inspired!

Moody Blues by Toni

Hi everyone… have you seen our mood board this month ? It’s plump full of inspiration and gorgeous blue tones.

For my inspiration I pulled from the beautiful blues of course, the wood grain on the door, the graytones, the pretty mosaic print and the funny circles. Here is what I came up with.

I had a photo of my daughter in black and white and I reprinted it in an ombre effect with the blues for my focal point. The background first I used our pretty gothic stencil and sponged on some Sorbet-Black Leather Jacket and once dry I ran through Mud Texture Paste through the same stencil. The it was time for some fun with splatters here and there and I also dipped my lids in the paint for some pretty circles. The photo above you can see what a pretty shine the Minx Shimmering Inks provides on your projects. Just dripped this down the sides of my layout. It’s always fun to use unexpected items for your titles, these were little wood pieces that I used my crop-a-dile to punch a hold, using archival black ink I stamped my letters and added the brads. With the addition of some crystal seed beads in my flowers and some sterling glass glitter for added texture. I hope you will join us this month and be inspired by our beautiful mood board, please also post it on our Facebook page HERE so we all can be inspired by your creativity.  Happy creating xoxo Toni

Wood Canvas with 3D Bird Nest

Hi everyone 🙂

today I’m sharing a 3D canvas with you. I found this bird in the home decor section and just had to pair it with Art Anthology paints, sprays and inks. It is incredible that you can use the same paint as the base, for dimension and as finishing touches. It always surprises me how they turn out and that it just works.

For this canvas I decided to pick a green color base. This way the wood canvas is the tree and the green color is representing the leaves (or similar :P).

So I started with prepping the surface with different shades of green. Then I adhered the nest and added several gold shimmer effects. But see for yourself:

What do you think? Did the bird get a nice and shiny home or should she move? 😉

For this project I used:

Rusty vintage frame by Marleen.

Hi, Marleen here with a new project.
I altered a frame. In the Netherlands we have Kings-day and the whole country is celebrating.
Everybody can sell anything you want. So the country is one big flea market the end of April. So I bought myself a 50ct frame!

My goal was to get a really old rusty effect with all the Art Anthology  mediums and inks and I love the final result!

Of course I made a Snapguide tutorial for you!
