Land Of The Free Journal Page by Toni

Hi everyone, it’s a new month and a new mood board here at Art Anthology and my design team inspiration was from the beautiful blues, reds and grays.

I created a two page journal layout. Sit back as I walk you through this fun process. Using painters tape, create strips across your pages. Using the Twilight stencil and Mud paste I added my stars to the corner of my journal page. Take your spatula and in waves add your texture paste to the uncovered portion of the strips. This will give the appearance of movement in your flag.  Allow your paste to dry completely.  I knew sprayng my strips would be easier but I didn’t have a vivid red so I took the Shine in Ruby and added it to a spray bottle with a little water and shook real good and sprayed away. Gorgeous color and coverage. Now I sprayed my stars with Indigo Colorations Spray.  Heat set all your sprays. Remove your painters tape and reveal your white strips. Taking a fine point Sharpie I wrote the lyrics to Oh Beautiful. Last but not least I used the Metal Effects in Silver with my finger and ran it over all the high parts of the Mud paste on the stars and strips. Then added my title “Land Of the Free Home of the Brave” . Hoping you are inspired by my pages and don’t forget to play along with us and create using our mood board and post it to our Facebook HERE.

Here is a list of the products used for my journal pages.

Stencils- Twilight

Shine- Ruby

Colorations- Indigo

Metal Effects – Silver

Curious Cat Canvas

Hello everyone! Today I am hoping to inspire you with this fun canvas project using the *New* Shine Dimensional paints from Art Anthology! Below I have included a Snapguide tutorial with step by step instructions on how this was created.

The Shine Dimensional paints are vibrant and smooth. When dry they are semi-translucent and have a beautiful hi-gloss finish. They are available in 11 beautiful colors.

For this project I chose to use them to create a water colored effect as my background. They react very well when mixed with water this way as seen below.

For my canvas, I used the following products from Art Anthology:
Shine Dimensional paints
Ocean  Royal

Minx Shimmering Inks
Panache  Stargazer

Rose Swirl Stencil

#SummerVibes Inspiration Challenge Canvas with Brandy

Hi there Art fans! Brandy here today to share a canvas I made for our #SummerVibes Challenge on the our Facebook Fan page, Adventures in art!
Don’t forget…All members that post and share their #summervibe project will be put into a drawing for one of Marleen van Meerendonk‘s new stencils!!!
Here is our inspiration for you! Any project any style…just use some Art Anthology product on it!!

I decided to make a canvas for my project.  Of course I let those blue skies and water and all that lavender inspire me!

I have created many very subtle textures in the background of my canvas by using my Hurricane, Bubbles, and Take Flight stencils! It wasn’t easy but I tried really hard to keep my coloring to a minimum…so the color that was there would stand out !

Just three simple products were used… my Sky Colorations Spray, and my Orchid and Reef Velvet paints! I built up my Sky color, by adding a few layers of sprays and and watered down my Velvet’s to use them more as watercolors.

I hunted around on the internet to find a title to work with and found a poem by Roald Dahl….LOL, gives me a #SummerVibe, how about you!!??

Here is a tutorial/process video if you’d like to see how I made it!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I’ve inspired you to create a summer project to come and share with us!!!

Adventure awaits you, be fearless!

Hi Art Anthology fans!

Daniëlle here with a project for you. I created 2 tags this time:

Here’s how I created them:

First I sprayed with my colorations sprays. I used Siesta key, timeless and plush.

Next I used Mardi gras velvet and the ringlets stencil to create texture:

After this I used raider colorations spray and plush colorations spray with some background stamps to add more dimension to my tags:

To finish my background I also used the cracked stencil and clear coat linen. This creates a shiny, glittery extra texture:

Now, while my tags are drying, I stamp some images I like and colored them using Black leather jacket, Cayman, Mi Bella and wisteria sorbet:

I finish my project by cutting out the colored images and pasting them to my tags. I also added text stickers and ofcourse some nice ribbons.

Some close ups so you can see the colors and texture better:

I hope you enjoyed my project, see you next time!

List of products I used:

Colorations: Timeless, Plush, Siesta Key

Velvet: Mardi gras

Stencils: Ringlets, Cracked

Clear coat: Linen

Sorbet: Black leather jacket, Cayman, Mi Bella, Wisteria

Colorful art journal page with Daniëlle

Hi Art Anthology fans!

Danielle here with an art journal page I created in my large journal.

If you want to create one yourself you can follow these steps:

  1. Add some color, using colorations sprays. Don’t cover the entire page.

2. Using limeaid velvet and the lattice stencil, add some texture.

3. Stamp some images on your page, just to make your background more interesting.

4. Using Fiesta velvet and the lotus stencil, add another layer of texture, this time in a different color.

5. While the page is drying, stamp and cut out a larger stamp on a different piece of paper. I used minx inks, mayan gold velvet and the pebbles velvet to color mine.

To finish my page I glued down the colored flower, drew a stem with leaves and stamped a text on a tag which I glued to my page as well. This is what the finished page looks like:

List of products I used:

Colorations spray: Avocado, Clover

Stencils: Lotus, Lattice, Pebbles

Velvet: LimeaidFiesta, Mayan Gold

Minx: Enchanting, Radiance

I look forward to see what you create!

From Recycling Bin to Art!

Hello Art Anthology Friends and Fans! Today I am sharing this fun repurposed bottle project using  some amazing Art Anthology products! Products Used available by clicking the links below.
Colorations Plush
Colorations Wild Orchid
Fairy Dust Ice
Minx Gold Dust
Pebbles Stencil

Start with a clean glass bottle. Coat with two or three coats of white gesso allowing each coat to dry.

Add molded focal such as the cherub head and wings used here. Also add flowers and metal embellishments. Use a strong adhesive that can stand wet media. Once all are glued down coat them all in heavy white gesso. I also added some white crackle paste through the Pebbles stencil on the neck and allowed it to dry and crackle. This added a bit more texture.

Next add the Colorations Sprays and Fairy Dust Spray Ice. Alternate between them and dry each as they are added. Once the color was dry I re-coated the face in white gesso so it stood out.

I added a script stamp in black all over the open areas. Drips of Gold Dust Minx were used to accent areas and also the hair. Gel medium was dabbed in areas around the embellishments and then sprinkled with a mixture of gold micro beads and gold glass glitters. Once all was dry I brushed a pearlizing medium over the bottle and focal as well as some of the flowers.

A large rose painted with Art anthology colorations in the same colors was added along with a metal butterfly embellishment.
Lastly I added some chain with a pearl charm to the top as an accent.

Some other views….
