Fun Altered Fall Paintbrush

Hi Art Anthology Fans!! Today I am going to show you what I created using inspiration from our November moodboard! This Fun Altered Fall Paintbrush!

How did I create this? Read on for more……….

In addition to the amazing Art Anthology colors featured on the mood board, Limeaid Velvet, Bronze Metal EffectsDecadent Minx, Gold Dust Minx, and Radiance Minx, I also added some Red Velvet Sorbet and Bankroll Minx. As you can see all of these colors work very well together to create a great Fall palette! By adding the Minx Shimmering Inks in coordinating colors you will achieve a glittery and glossy finish to your project.

Here are a few pictures close up to show detail. After these please click on the snapguide for a full tutorial!

Altered Pumpkin by Anna Colby

Hi everyone! I decided to make a fall craft for the Thanksgiving Season! I altered this paper mache pumpkin with some awesome embellishments I made myself with resin and molds. I wanted a center piece for my Thanksgiving table and I love the way this turned out, I might pair it with some candles and flowers.

These are the products I used: Minx Shimmering Inks in the color Decadent. Metal Effects in Gold, Stone Effects in Bone and Coloration Spray in  Warm. Velvet Paints in Tango and Shamrock as well as the stencil Diamond Grunge. The picture doesn’t do it justice but I love the subtle shimmer and shine effect from these products

Here is a close up of all the details, the Minx Shimmering Inks really made it pop. For a tutorial on how to make your own, check out my video below.

Altering a Cigar Box W/ Brandy

Happy November, Art Anthology fans! I’m here to share an altered cigar box I made, and some of the trials and tribulations I incurred as well!!
Okay, we are still talking about doing art here, but if this post proves anything, it’s that you can probably fix most of your crafty boo-boos and learn a lot along the way. 🙂

I’m still learning new things every time I pick up spray bottle or paint brush, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. That’s what is so great about Art Anthology Paints and mediums and sprays…there’s a style, color and technique for everyone to love!

After laying on an awesome layer of Peacock Feathers and Sandcastle Sprays, I needed some  gray to match the papers I would be embellishing my box with. I went with my Sterling Fairy Dust Spray….and added  WAY TO MUCH! Even though it washed a lot of my colors away, and it was still absolutely gorgeous,  it just didn’t give me the effect I was looking for! 🙁

I got my sprays back out, reapplied them… I choose to blend the colors by dry brushing some gesso over them and then making a few choice sprays of my Steel Colorations spray instead. I loved it!!

In case you liked the way my project was going the first time, I have added all the products used. The Snapguide will let you know what was used when.

Peacock Feathers Colorations Spray
Sandcastle Colorations Spray
Cayman Sorbet Dimensional Paint
Sterling Fairy Dust Spray
Steel Colorations Spray
Chevron STencil

I hope this inspires you to get your crafty on. Maybe even dig out the project you gave up on a couple weeks ago! 🙂

Welcome Fall

Welcome Fall

Hey there, Michelle here with another project today. After a particularly super busy month, I am looking forward to fall bringing cooler temperatures and that time of year that makes some of us slow down, so although Welcome is seen as just a mere greeting to some, it truly is a “Welcome” sight to some of us in many ways, so I hope you enjoy this cute little plaque display using two of my favorite Art Anthology colors!

Just take in that Art Anthology Gemstones Amber, the warmth it exudes just pulls these colors together

Art Anthology Colorations Sprays Sedona and Timeless were meant to be together, adding the sprays in layers allowed me to control how ‘aged’ I wanted them to look, so have fun with it, play around with them by adding and layering your gesso and sprays, I used flowers from the dollar store for some of them, so try different ones out and see how the sprays change each of them.

I hope you enjoyed this project and give it a try, until next time take care and thank you for joining me!

Trick or Treat Bag by Anna Colby

Happy Halloween Everyone! I decided to decorate a treat bag to try out the Velvet Paints.

This is one of my favorite stencils, I love how the Tuxedo Velvet Paint worked thru the stencil, giving my bag the extra texture I was looking for.

I used Shamrock and Chocolate, I liked how the transparency of these paints added depth.

Happy Halloween, Wishing you all lots of tricks and treats!

Happy Grungy Halloween!

Welcome to my first post as an Art Anthology Dream Team member, since Halloween is one of my favorite topics to do art with, I decided to kick it off with a little bit of Halloween spirit and make a mixed media grunge piece with some chipboard. Poppy has such a beautiful shimmer and has quickly become one of my favorite Sorbet Paints, and with fall here and Thanksgiving right around the corner, you can use it in many projects. Thank you for spending some time with me today, I hope you enjoy the project and will join us here weekly for more wonderful projects!

Super easy Thank You cards w/ Brandy!

Happy Saturday, friends!  Dream Team member Brandy here to share a couple of super quick and easy cards for you to try!
You really have to love Art Anthology’s Mediums…so thick and rich… don’t forget they make a really nice texture when you use them with a stencil! Not many paints out there that can do that, huh!?

Just apply them as you would any other stencil paste and let it dry!

I used Kenyan Copper Sorbet , Salmon Colorations Spray and the Keyholes Stencil. 🙂
