Bee Happy door hanger

Hello my dear crafty friends!

Irit is here with my new Mixed Media tutorial and this time we are going to make a Happy door hanger or as you can see it is ” Bee Happy” one.

As you can see I made it in bee’s yellow and just black and white and used tons of Art Anthology products.

The main images and the sentiment were stamped and heat embossed. My tip for you: if you wish to use mists over stamped images first heat emboss them! So easy and keeps the images untouched even with the heavy spraying.

So here are some close- ups for you to see and then there is a full step by step Snapguide tutorial as always.

Here is our Snapguide tutorial:

Art Anthology products list is HERE:

Beehive Stencil

Dazzle Clear Coat

Dot matrix stencil

Lava Stone effects

Steel colorations

Raider Colorations

Black Leather Jacket Sorbet

Glorious Colorations

I hope that you liked my project and the tutorial.

See you soon!

Naked Beauty by Toni

Hi all our artsy followers, today I’m on the blog with a layout I created featuring an “au natural” photo I took at the beach of the gorgeous colors in the sand as well as pretty textures of shells, pods, feathers and drift wood…. all of natures eye candy. I love photographing  mother nature stripped down, in the raw. The textures, the organic feel is truly healthy for my soul. I did add some florals as well as moss, shells and different sizes of art stones to enhance, but the foundation was provided by Art Anthology’s Mud Texture Paste run through the pretty Bubbles stencil. As well as splashes here and there of AA’s paints using Sorbet, Velvets and Stone Effects. (Below are a list of products used. )Instant coffee  spritzed with water also provided for some warmth and depth to my layout. I hope you have been inspired to photograph the unexpected. Embrace what has been provided to you by the earth’s complexion, photograph it and then get messy with your mixed media products in order to save those memories.

Products used are:

Velvets-Terracotta, Tuxedo

Stone Effects-Concrete

Sorbet-Chocolate

Stencil-Bubbles

Mud Texture Paste

Enjoy my Snapguide tutorial below for my step x step process.

Imagine scrapbook Layout

Today I would love to share a layout I created and titled “Imagine”. I love blues and browns together and I love to mix them with texture and distressing to create a “vintage” look as I did here. Enjoy!

For this layout, I used a lot of techniques to create textures and movement. The background started as a grid lined cardstock. I stamped with watermarking clear stamp and  a fern-like stamp and heat embossed clear. I then used  Distress ink in Vintage Photo with sponge aplicator to bring out the texture. Next, I used Art Anthology’s Blocked stencil and texture paste (mixed with Art Anthology Waimea bay Colorations spray) to add another layer of texture. I used a mix of corrugated and Kaisercraft papers cut into circles, G45 papers cut into strips, and chippies from my stash. I used Art Anthology Blue Topaz Gemstone paint to add more color to plain silver paper straws. Prima flowers and mini art stones were also adhered. For a little more of the dark blue to contrast I stamped the same fern-like stamp with a chalk ink. Splatters of white acrylic, Art Anthology Minx in Stargazer and Art Anthology Colorations Sprays in Waimea Bay ,Warm, Indigo, and Timeless were added all around focal. For some glitz I added some bling stones in greens and blues.

I Love You Daddy by Toni

Hi everyone, it’s my turn on the blog today with a project I’m dedicating to my daddy. This is a photo of him when he was around 3 years old so probably taken about 1938.

I had purchased this canvas on clearance and it had burlap on the front of it which really added to the texture of the piece, but combined with Art Anthology paints, seed beads and texture powders I really think it gave it that masculine touch.

A little sprinkle of instant coffee on my chipboard pieces and spritzes of water gave them a grungy natural look. Hope you enjoyed my piece and wishing all the daddy’s out there a Spectacular Father’s Day this month !!!.

For your pleasure I have provided a snapguide tutorial for my step x step process.

Live Life Tag Board

Hi everyone, happy to be back with another DT post . For this project I used some of the Art Anthology dimensional paints… Metal Effects, Velvet’s and Sorbet. These paints are quite different than most paints I’ve used, they are translucent yet dimensional, so the heavier the application, the more dimensional and opaque they become. The Velvet’s have a beautiful matt, smooth finish, the Sorbet’s have high gloss and a tinge of glitter, I used the combination of both for the leaves.

As for the Metal Effects, I love using them over black gesso by applying the copper first and highlighting with the gold, which makes the copper look more like a rusty background…love this technique, will definitely be using it on another project. On this project I also used it on the face mold to give it an aged, distressed look, hard to see the end result in the video, but you can see it in the close up photo.

Hope you’re feeling inspired!

Enjoy

Have a great day!!!

Measured Moments – Art Journal Page

Hi everyone, Maria here, so happy to be back with another DT project. I’ve decided to create another page for my Vintage Art Journal. My inspiration started with the quote I used, but it was shortly followed by my love for all things vintage. I used a the “scales” stencil, several colorations sprays, a combination of metallic effects and sorbet paints. Love how all of the colors used blended so well together.

Enjoy…
