Customized Scrapbook Title Using Wax Paste!

Hey everyone! Suzanne here to share a mixed-media layout that I’ve created using some very fun Art Anthology mediums! I was able to play with some AA Wax Paste to create a customized title for this page!

I began with a simple die-cut that’s been cut out of heavyweight cardstock. Using an embossing folder, I deboss the title (the image is inverted).

Using a soft paper towel and my fingertip, I take a small amount of Art Anthology Wax Paste and apply it to the title using circular motions until coverage is satisfactory. I used a heat tool to set the wax and buffed the title to give it an even deeper sheen!

I used the packaging “smoosh” technique to apply color to the background of the page using Minx Shimmering Inx. Once the background is completely dry, I splattered more Minx Ink to the background in big and small splatters and let dry! Here are some closeups of the completed layout!

These simple techniques yield gorgeous results for the finished page! The Wax Paste is amazingly easy to use and adds the perfect amount of shine for the title!

Art Anthology Supplies:
Wax Paste “Bronze”
Minx Ink “Gold Dust, Decadent”

Other Supplies:
cardstock diecuts and embellishments
patterned paper
embossing folder

Dreamer of Dreams by Farrel Tailor

Happy New Year Everyone!!!! Farrel here to share with you all an altered frame I created using lots of Art Anthology mixed media goodies!!!

Dreamer of Dreams Frame by Farrel Tailor

I stared by painting my Dusty Attic chipboard frame with white gesso, then used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche on the base and Sorbet Dimensional Paint – Vegas Gold on the top layer.

Next I tore a piece of paper from an old book and sprayed it with Colorations Sprays – Warm and Sandcastle. I then adhered this piece to the back of the chipboard frame.

I stamped a mixture of butterflies onto some white cardstock (prima stamps) and used Minx Shimmering Ink – Panche and Colorations sprays – Plush, Peacock Feathers and Siesta Keys to colour the butterflies.

“Winter Joy” Mixed-Media Layout

Hey everyone! Can you believe that it’s the end of the year already!? Suzanne here today to share with you a very easy and simple mixed media layout that I’ve created using Minx Shimmering Ink and Shine paint!

I begin my layout by adding a diluted mixture of Minx Ink in “Indulgence” and water (to lighten the color) using the “smoosh” technique; it really is the easiest way to jump start any layout with color!

While the ink was still wet, I added Minx Shimmering Ink in “Gold Dust.” This adds an awesome gold shimmer to the background-I actually want to put it on everything!

Check out that bling!

While the background is drying, I added color to paper die-cuts using Shine paint in “Kelly Green.” Because I didn’t necessarily want the full opacity of the paint, on a non-stick surface, I diluted the paint with water and mixed it well. I very loosely painted and dipped the pine bough die-cuts into the mixture until I was satisfied with coverage; I dried the die-cuts with a heating tool and added Minx Ink in Gold Dust on top to add even more shimmer!

Now that everything is completely dry, all that’s left to do is to assemble the layout. Here are some close-ups.

Art Anthology Supplies:
Shine “Kelly Green”
Minx Shimmering Inks “Gold Dust”

Other Supplies:
Cardstock die-cuts
sticker embellishments and letters
patterned paper

floral jar

A Floral Jar

Hello, welcome to another tutorial. As some of you already know, I love repurposing common household objects and turning into works of art. I recently made this beautiful floral jar with tissue, clay flowers and Art Anthology Products and I loved it so much that I decided to do a video tutorial.

Floral Jar

I make my own clay flowers with Delight Clay™ and silicone molds, the kind you use for gum paste and fondant. I find this much cheaper as molds can be used over and over again. Also, the detail you get using the Delight Clay™ is amazing!

Below is a supply list and a video tutorial showing you how to make this jar. It actually would be a great gift for someone special.

Art Anthology Products used:

Salmon Colorations Spray
Sandcastle Colorations Spray
Flamingo Sorbet Dimensional Paint

Other products used are:
glass jar
gesso
tissue
clay flowers
collage paper
soft gel medium
white acrylic paint

Christmas Card inspiration with Daniëlle

Hi guys!

How are you doing? I have a quick inspirational post for you today. Every year I create some Christmas cards and this year I used an Art Anthology background for them.

I created the background using three colorations sprays colors, Minx inks and Fairy Dust with a stencil. As you can see I also added some background stamping, a different text for each card. I also added a layer of clear coat sterling through a stencil. Add a cute image and text and your cards are ready! I like my Christmas cards all shiny and sparkly so I use lots of Minx, Fairy Dust and clear coat. I also use pearlescent cardstock but that’s quite hard to photograph.

I hope to inspire you to create a quick little Christmas card yourself!

See you again soon!

Trust Your Heart Wall Art

Hello everyone! Jenn here sharing my latest project for the Art Anthology Dream Team!

I created a lovely wall art piece with amazing stencils and mediums from Art Anthology!

The products used for my project:
Art Anthology Colorations Sprays – Plush, Ink Spot, Siesta Key
Art Anthology Fairy Dust Shimmer Spray – Sterling
Art Anthology Minx – Stargazer
Art Anthology Stencils – Floral Tile, Wheel

I have also used:
Heavy White Gesso
AB Studio Papers
Chipboard,Beads, and Flowers from Reneabouquets
Sentiment
Glitter
Microbeads
Black Ink Pad
Rubber Stamps
Modeling Paste

To create my piece, I started with a wooden heart from my local craft store that is 11″ wide by about 8″ tall. I coated it with heavy white gesso twice and allowed it to dry.
I then added modeling paste through the Floral Tile stencil randomly and allowed it to dry. I added another layer of heavy white gesso over the stenciling. Next, I mixed AA Minx in Stargazer to modeling paste and applied it randomly through the Wheel stencil and allowed to dry.

Next, I added spritzes of the Colorations sprays alternating colors and allowing to dry in between. I also added drips of the Stargazer Minx for the shimmer effect seen.

Next, I started building my composition, adhering elements at different levels by using foam under them.

Fiinally, once my composition was complete, I added microbeads, glitter, and AA Sterling Shimmer Spray.

Thanks so much for visiting and viewing my post today. I hope that you are inspired to get crafty and creative! All products used here and many others are available online at the link below!

Season’s Greeting Card by Farrel Tailor

Hi there AA fans, I am back with another project share and today I decided to create a Christmas card. I have to admit I am not a card maker but I had so much fun creating this one that I may have to create some more.

Season's Greetings Card by Farrel Tailor
  1. To start my card I used an old music sheet from my stash and sprayed all over using Colorations Spray – Warm. Once dry, I then tore to fit my card.

2. I inked the edges of my music sheet with Vintage Photo archival Ink and then stenciled the whole area of the sheet using AA’s Clear Coat Dimensional Medium – Splashed and Art Deco stencil.

3. Next I painted my Green Tara large Poinsetta flower with Gold Metal Effects medium using a paint brush. I applied 2 coats of this for complete coverage.

4. Next I used a paint brush to paint my chipboard flourishes using Minx Shimmering Ink. Make sure you give this a good shake to make sure all the shimmering goodness is throughout the ink.

5. Then all there is needs to be done is adhere everything to the card and I found some Christmas stamps in my stash which I used on some white card stock and used Vintage Photo archival Ink. The backing of the sentiment I used some glitter paper and adhere a piece of ribbon from my stash also.

Christmassy art journal page with Daniëlle

Hi there everyone!

I’m a big holiday season fan and I just love spending and enjoying time with my family during the holidays! So I was in a Christmassy (or messy LOL) mood when I created this art journal page!

Here’s a step by step tutorial so you can create one yourself:

1: I love to start with collage.

2: Next I added modelling paste through the Twilight stencil.

3: Adding color using colorations sprays clover and warm and a little bit of minx ink in color indulgence.

I also added some Fairy Dust in Gilded Gold for extra sparkle.

4: Next I added some scraps of paper.

5: In my last step I added some gold glitter washi tape and a text I like. Part of it I ‘wrote’ with Raider colorations spray and a brush, part are stickers and part are letter stamps.

That’s all, see you next time!
