Art Inspired Tags

Hello there, here is my next DT project for Art Anthology. I made some colorful purple and yellow tags, using some black for contrast. These are colorful and simple to create using Art Anthology’s Colorations spray, somewhat mixed in with Minx ink. For added texture I used some Stone Effects through the stencil and Sorbet medium on the chipboard. For a tad more texture I also applied some purple and black glass glitter.
Hope you are feeling inspired to create your own…below you will find a step by step tutorial.
Enjoy…

By The Sea – Lighthouse Frame

Hello creative friends, glad to be sharing another DT post. For today’s project I made a mixed media, somewhat altered lighthouse frame. I decided not to add a photo yet (needing one that’s just right), instead I removed the glass piece and replaced it with pattern paper and a wooden sentiment, I saved the glass piece for when I add the photo later.

I love playing with lots of texture, color and embellishments.  I used a combination of Art Anthology Colorations color sprays – Sandcastle, Warm, Waimea Bay and Peacock Feathers, Velvet Mediums – Kona, Fiji and Limeaid, Sorbet medium – Kenyan Copper, Gemstone medium – Amber and Stone Effects – Bone. Everything came together so nicely, it’s a great way to relax and have some fun.

Hope you feel inspired to create your own… you will find a step by step tutorial with a complete list of supplies posted below.

Enjoy…

Inspire the Arts – Altered Paintbrush

Hello creative gang, happy to back for another DT post. For today’s project I created a “grungy rainbow” altered paintbrush using Velvet dimensional paints and the Metal Effects – copper and gold. These are so thick and dimensional, you can literally hold an open bottle upside down and nothing will come out, a little goes a very long way. When lightly applied they are somewhat transparent, which easily allows you to slowly build and control the amount of color needed, especially when using a variety of colors on a small project, like I did here.

I love learning new products as it is always a fun way for me to expand my mind and hopefully find new ways to be creative. Glad you could stop by, be sure to check out the video tutorial posted below.

Live Life Tag Board

Hi everyone, happy to be back with another DT post . For this project I used some of the Art Anthology dimensional paints… Metal Effects, Velvet’s and Sorbet. These paints are quite different than most paints I’ve used, they are translucent yet dimensional, so the heavier the application, the more dimensional and opaque they become. The Velvet’s have a beautiful matt, smooth finish, the Sorbet’s have high gloss and a tinge of glitter, I used the combination of both for the leaves.

As for the Metal Effects, I love using them over black gesso by applying the copper first and highlighting with the gold, which makes the copper look more like a rusty background…love this technique, will definitely be using it on another project. On this project I also used it on the face mold to give it an aged, distressed look, hard to see the end result in the video, but you can see it in the close up photo.

Hope you’re feeling inspired!

Enjoy

Measured Moments – Art Journal Page

Hi everyone, Maria here, so happy to be back with another DT project. I’ve decided to create another page for my Vintage Art Journal. My inspiration started with the quote I used, but it was shortly followed by my love for all things vintage. I used a the “scales” stencil, several colorations sprays, a combination of metallic effects and sorbet paints. Love how all of the colors used blended so well together.

Enjoy…

Vintage Art Jornal Page

Hi everyone, Maria here, happy to be posting my first Art Anthology DT project. I so enjoyed playing with all of the different sprays and paints, especially with some of the paints being somewhat translucent. With so many colors and textures to play with, including stencils, I’m so looking forward to creating more projects. Step by step tutorial posted below.

With that, I finally found the courage to use my Mixed Media Art Journal. I did take a page out by removing the wire rings from the Journal, I did this to create at liberty, without making a mess onto the other pages. Keep in mind that I do have the Cinch tool that can easily reattach the rings, although I will not be reattaching it until I complete the journal. I have decided to designate this journal to my love of vintage and vintage shabby chic.

Enjoy…
