Sand and Surf themed Canvas Mini Album with Brandy

Hi Art Anthology followers! Is it summer yet??? Well it’s not really even close here in the high Rockies, but a girl can dream, right?
I found these adorable little canvas bags at Target and wanted to use them to make some kind of one of a kind mini album. So with some wood pieces as spacers I used a super easy Japanese Binding technique to make them into a book.

A little gesso on the pages and I was ready to go! It doesn’t get much more beachy than Coral Sorbet Paint & Waimea Bay Colorations Spray! 🙂 Then add a few drips and spritzes of Warm Colorations Spray gives it that warm and cozy- been around awhile- look!

I hope this inspires you during your transition to summer!! Go play and get ready for those summer photos!!
I’ve made a snapguide tutorial for this…come take a peek!

Pretty Altered Canvas with Brandy!

Hi Art Anthology Fans! Today I have a really pretty canvas to share with you!
When I saw the image of this lady, I knew it would make the perfect centerpiece one day…. I guess today’s the day! 🙂

I used my Cracked stencil and put embossing powder on top of my mud before drying.  Can you feel the power coming from that texture??!! Plus, I used Sterling Colorations spray to make them pop even more.

The Waimea and Wild Orchid colorations sprays look awesome together. 🙂

To finish the piece I gave it a title. I think “trust your crazy ideas” is just perfect.
Of course there’s a Snapguide tutorial for you!

Make your own rust effects with Art Anthology!

Hello Art Anthology Fans!! Dream Team member Brandy here today to share my project inspired by our moodboard over on the Facebook group page, Art Anthology Adventures in Art!
This month’s board features some awesome rusty objects! If you haven’t played along yet, what are you waiting for!? 🙂

With a combination of “sandy” Kenyan Copper Sorbet and Radiance Minx Shimmering Ink I was able to come up with something that looks pretty darn close! 🙂

I made a Snapguide tutorial for this project!

Summer Colors With Brandy!

Hello Art Anthology fans! It’s not even spring here in the Rockies, but I was the feeling the sun shining with this project!!
To create something I could use for a layout, but be a little different, I dug an old embroidery hoop out of my stash.  Brighten up any space…all i need is to choose a photo! 🙂

A little Brick Stone Effects brightened my bubbles texture, and some Indulgence Minx Ink softened it to perfection.
Filling in the blanks with some Glorious Colorations spray looks like sunshine!

I used some Pixies sorbet to and my blossom stencil for some awesome texture.

Here’s a tutorial on how I made made this beauty!

Hello Art Anthology fans! I’m here to share a very fun project! Yes, it’s a mini album, but it also folds out to be a pretty decoration you can add a few pictures to.

I used a few AA stencils and a couple AA paints to create the one of a kind background for each tag page. A couple of pieces of chipboard and some ribbon later, and you have yourself a pretty little mini album. 🙂

Altered Reverse Canvas with Brandy

Hello again!! Brandy here today with a new project. This was so fun! It took me a while to figure just how I would do it, but I wanted it to be just right. I’ve been wanting to try decorating on the reverse side of a canvas for some time. It can be kind of like a shadow box, but the wood frame gives you a bigger area to create on that faces forward.

As usual, I’ve created a tutorial over at Snapguide, so you can give this project a try yourself!!

Altered Cigar Box With Brandy

Hello Art Anthology fans! Brandy here today, to show you an altered cigar box I was challenged to finally do! I’ve had this baby in my stash for at least a year, just begging to be decorated. It’s an awesome real wood box, in mint condition, so I certainly didn’t want to screw it up, right?
It was so much fun though!
Couple coats of gesso and I was on my way. 🙂

For this project, I choose to try out a technique that Phyllis used on a previous layout she created, beinging with blocks and strips of paper for texture. Good way to use up some scraps or even use up those papers you thought looked so much better on the shelf!
Maybe it’s the colors I chose or the Art Anthology Such A Drip Stencil I used, but sometimes when I look at the finished box, it looks like a map. 🙂

Like, maybe it’s not an item that was created one afternoon.  Maybe it’s treasured heirloom that’s seen many years and many travels.  🙂
Give my tutorial a try and see what your box says to you!!

Mixed Media Tag Set with Brandy

Hi all! Brandy here today to show you some tags I made. Pretty easy and so full of color. Tags are a great way to try out new colors and techniques. 🙂                                                                        If you have a heat tool to dry in between color changes they can be super fast to make, too!

I used the fussy cut butterflies for inspiration.

A little rustic, a lot of pretty! I love how they turned out!

I created a Snapguide tutorial if you’d like to give these a try!
